When I was with family over in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, one recurring thing americans said to me is that apart from the weather always raining (which is partially true), they couldn’t cope with how bad the food is… When they’d never even been over here! And even the few I spoke to that had and complained had obviously ate at the typical tourist places in London. The only thing a lot of Americans had tried was the US version of fish and chips. So, Sheppards Pie is just one of many great traditional english foods. We have amazing stuff like ‘Bangers and mash’, ‘toad in the hole’, Cauliflower cheese, Sunday Roast dinner, full english breakfast (which despite popular belief is actually only had on the odd occasion). We also have great puddings like ‘Rubarb Crumble’, Jam Roley Poley, Apple Cake, Jam Tart, spotted dick etc. I’m sure a lot of americans do know that Britain having only bad food is n old and wrong steriotype but the reason I get upset is because I want them to experience all the great foods the Uk has to offer. Great version of Sheppards Pie Sam, will try this out myself.

Mary had a little lamb who's fleece was white as snow, till her father, the Sheppard, cut its throat to make a Sheppards Pie. Now you know the history behind Sheppards Pie.
