    Great recipe. But instead of testing your yeast in that rich mix and having to throw it away, you can just test a pinch or two in warm water for 10 mins first! Reduce wastage and all that.

    half of that bench flour wasn't even needed, it actually makes most people add too much extra flour because they think it's too sticky. You can honestly get a somewhat sticky dough nice and smooth and not sticky with kneading alone, at school we only use extra flour if the dough if it's REALLY wet like it spreads onto the counter like a paste rather than roll out like dough

    All In Measuring Cup
    1 Cup Warm Milk
    1/2 Cup Warm Water
    1/4 Cup Melted Butter
    1/2 Cup Sugar
    2 1/4 Teaspoon Active Dry Yeast
    Mix and Rest 5 Minutes

    Large Bowl:
    4 Cups Flour
    1/2 Teaspoon Salt
    Mix

    Back to Measuring Cup
    1 Egg
    Mix Into Yeast Mixture

    Add Yeast Mixture to Flour Mixture and Mix Until a Shaggy Dough Appears.

    Turn onto floured surface and knead until dough has passed the stretch test.

    Set in a greased bowl and let rise for an hour.

    Turn out the dough and evenly distribute into 16 pieces.

    Knead each roll individually until they spring.

    Turn onto parchmented cookie sheet, close together.(Less than one inch apart).

    Proof for one hour or until doubled in size.

    Preheat oven to 375.

    Beat an egg and gently brush over rolls optionally add flaky sea salt.

    Bake for 25-30 minutes.

    I see most comments a year or 2 old so I don't know if I'll get a response but here goes…… i tried this recipe today. The LOOK great! But the are dense and dry inside. What did I do wrong?
