Very excellent information – I hope others that are afraid of fruits and starches decide to experiment and see for themselves. That's what I did to get the truth to show itself to myself! I used to be low carb but as a kid loved fruit and always wondered why as an adult I could not eat tons of fruit. I was insulin resistant from the fatty high meat foods I ate for many years, I had major health issues in my mid 30's even though I was a track runner and considered healthy in appearances. I finally had enough of it and went plant based with emphasis on fruit, I had to go SLOW because of the insulin spikes at first but I persisted because I believed and finally my body adjusted to fruits and vegetables and grains, and I lost a ton of body fat. I now can enjoy fruits like never before, it is like I am a kid again, finally eating natural foods for my body type and feeling so much better, Papayas, pineapples, grapes, bananas, BLUEBERRIES, raw honey, green apples, PEACHES…melons an d lots of oats, yams, carrots, BUTTERNUT SQUASH (I made a Shepard's pie fruit version using mashed butternut squash) the only drawback is the amount of money I spend on fruit!

It must be true what they say, that you are what you eat – because Robby is so sweet, just like the fruit he eats 😀 I'd love to one day get to try all those amazing varieties, mamey sapote, and all those – we don't get much of them here in Sweden ^^ but one day I will! You're the best, both of you, thank you so so much for everything you do <3

Excellent show AJ. Robby's very knowledgeable, and of course, you did a great job interviewing him!
However, I think that near the end of the show, the topic of the proper ratio of essential fatty acids (omega-3 & 6) in the diet was conflated/confused with the idea that some plant-based doctors espouse that it is advantageous to consume some fat with meals to maximize absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and healthful phytochemicals. For example, Dr. Fuhrman maintains that when you eat a salad with a nut or seed-based dressing, you absorb much more carotenoids that are present in the raw vegetables. He says more than 10 times as much of certain nutrients are absorbed. He maintains that "some people simply require more essential fatty acids, period". And he insists that he knows of lifelong vegans that succumb to dementia because they were unaware of the importance of maintaining a healthy omega-3 level.
The omega 3 to omega 6 ratio in the diet is a different topic, as is what the minimum requirement of omega-3 for proper brain development and health is. In addition, not everyone adheres to a whole food, plant-based diet as closely or strictly as Robby does. Every ones conversion rate (ALA to EPA and DHA) is also different, and varies depending upon the age and gender of the person. Although everyone should be attempting to minimize or remove vegetable oils from the diet (largely omega-6) along with saturated fat, success at obtaining this goal will vary widely with each individual. The question may be, what is realistically achievable for most people and whether or not it's best to check omega-3 levels with a blood test to make sure they're in a favorable range. And to complicate the subject even more, Dr. Rhonda Patrick (a respected cell biologist) has published a paper regarding omega-3 DHA and supplementation and the brain. You can hear her speak about omega-3 and brain health here: https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/omega-3-phospholipid-dha-and-supplementation-rhonda-patrick

kcra news channel has a live video June 22, 2021 at 10:14 p.m. of at least one cow running on the freeway, trying to escape the slaughter house. This gets on the news once in a while. Cows are much smarter than most people "think." Please let your friends know about this video!

I could listen to Robby and Cyrus all the time. I always learn new nuggets from them. There are also times I've heard the same thing a few times but it sits with me differently each time based on my circumstances at the time. They're simply brilliant. ❤❤ Thank you for your platform and your passion Chef AJ. I adore and respect you so much!

I'd say just make your own capsules with the Amla powder. I do it with my Essential oils and other powdered supplements. If I can make my own it's going to be MUCH more cost effective. 😊

I absolutely love their Green Tea Amla. It's part of my morning ritual along with my oat groats and fruit. YUMMY to it all! The Hibiscus flavor does nothing for me though.
