It looks sooooooooo good! Mexican food is by far my favorite. If I lost my hearing… my sight… my legs, arms, anything… I'll be okay. Just don't EVER take Mexican food away from me!!!

I rarely comment on videos but I felt compelled to tell you this and I’m not ashamed to do so. Growing up in a Mexican household my mom always tried to have my sister and I at her hip while cooking for my dad so that we could learn the ropes for our own adult life. Well, other things were of my interest so I wasn’t present. Now, married (and married to a Mexican man) I was always stressed when it came down to dinner time because I knew/know my man is a simple man. He’s happy with beans de la oya, some rice and queso fresco. Well, the problem was that that was basically all I knew how to make lol. Your videos have taught me SO MUCH and has given me so much confidence to now show my kids how to cook so that they don’t have these issues when they’re beautiful young women. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, you are a god send and thank you for all that you do!!! Hugs & kisses, from Austin, TX

To make separating the veggies easier and eliminate most of the juices, I would use a metal netted colander/strainer. Press out the veggies against it so draw out all the juices 🤷🏻‍♀️

It looks good, but that is American machaca, which is really a shredded pot roast. Real mexican machaca from Sonora or Sinaloa is made with thinly sliced meat that is dried then "machacada" or pounded until it is finely shredded. Very different consistency. The "carne seca" that you find in southern Arizona is pretty much like the mexican machaca. My father is from Sonora, you should see how disappointed he was when he ordered machaca and eggs at a restaurant here in southern california. It wasn't the machaca he grew up eating.
