We have a strict budget every week. We always have done it that way. We are used to it. We are on a no spend year. We only give 4 presents per person for Christmas and only spend $100 per person. And only buy for our 4 kids. Dreaming to be debt free. What a great day that will be.

The biggest thing that keeps me on budget is making a fun game out of grocery shopping……..I go and see how much I can get for my money and what good deals i can get………just like a game …………sometimes i get home and feel really proud of my finds or sometimes I just break even………..and I get to have fun and stretch that almighty dollar as far as it will go:))))……….oh yes, tell Bruce he timed cleaning the ceiling at the perfect time..right when you were trying to concentrate, that's so funny…………

I am doing good. I do like stretching the chicken as much as you can. I have to push this one or my husband would sit and eat the whole chicken. Does Bruce think he needs a big amount of meat with his meals? Mine does and I say there is sides eat a little more of that.

My dream is to semi-retire when I am 55. I want to be able to go part-time and travel more. Our goal this year is to get building up our TFSA. We have lots of unused contribution room.

Hi Michele thanks for your frugal tips. We are saving for a log cabin in NE Alabama in the mountains. I'm like you I get so happy when I think about it. I know it will happenโค

I have started a 52 week money saving challenge for Christmas 2018. This will be the third year doing this. If you follow the guide you will have approx $1400 by Christmas. First week of the year it starts with just saving $2. Next week is $4 and increases $2each week after until you get to $52. Then you start subtracting $2 each week ($52, $50, $48 etc) 2017 we were blessed to the point we saved almost $2000. So far 2018 money challenge has started off very well. It just takes conscious planning and a bit of self control and a person can stick to a budget/money challenge. Unexpected things pop up but do like you did, you see where you have a little extra leftover and you use that. Itโ€™s going to be a great 2018!!!

I'm doing a low spend January. I spent a lot in December, but i didn't go in debt, I just spent more than usual over the holiday so I'm getting back on track. Watching videos like this helps to keep me motivated!

My dream is to save as much as possible so my husband can retire in 10 years or so. He works sooooo hard, and he deserves to relax and enjoy life.

I made up my budget for the year…lots of changes coming this year….I'll talk more about them on my channel later on ๐Ÿ™‚ for now, my focus is paying off all our debt, having no more credit cards as they are maxed out..can't use em so they keep accumulating..it's a vicious cycle and we are gonna end it… ๐Ÿ™‚ my card is already cut up….so that's a step….by July if all goes well, we should have a few different things payed off and that's what I am focussing on right now…. Then hopefully in Aug we can start getting some gifts so we aren't stuck and struggling at Christmas and after Christmas…… I love this budgeting stuff

Love this system, Michelle. We have so many auto withdrawals for monthly bills, it makes my head spin at times. I need to find a way to simplify things like the jar method.

Some of my favorite memories is traveling and camping. If you have a smartphone they have several apps for free camping, dump stations, fresh water and gas checker for cheaper gas. Hope your dreams come true โค๏ธ
