I do half brown half white rice all the time! I use Trader Joe's Quick cooking organic brown basmati rice, and organic white basmati. Together they cook either in 8 min in the Instant Pot or in a rice cooker in the regular rice setting. Thought it'd share for those asking about cooking both together!

Don’t be scared of you Instant Pot! It seems more complicated than it is. And before I bought it seemed easier than it is.
I steam veggies, but I also make everything on the quick stew/chili setting. I haven’t technically used the slow cook setting but I didn’t get rid of my slow cooker when I got the instant pot.

Absolutely love your channel. I binged watched all your videos, such an inspiration! After watching this one during my lunch break at work, went home and made the air fryer potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts and broccoli. All that served with a huge green salad 😀

Adding water before you put the mushrooms in cools the pan off making them take longer to cook.
Let them cook without water, add Worcestershire sauce, let cook a little longer then use water to deglaze the pan if they are sticking.

I couldn't live without my Vitamix and Instant Pot..use them both daily! Also love my Magic Bullet..mine is about 14 years old and looks like the exact same model as yours. 🙂 I wish I could like mushrooms, they look so tasty on your video!

I started this plan and on my 4th week… the weight just falls off and as Kiki has mentioned and Dr McDougall, some sugar is ok….its not as huge as we would think, but of course in moderation. Im grateful to Ms. Kiki for all her info! God bless, job well done!!

Good for you with those blenders! My Magic Bullet died in a few months, as did the two other Nutribullets I had before that. My Blendtec I loved but it died in two years time as well. I was really upset about that because I paid over $200 for it and it was supposed to last for years and years they said. Now, I have a $30 Oster blender that blends just as well and been going strong since last spring.

I currently steam my potatoes on the stove top but have been wanting to get an Instant Pot. Financially I couldn’t get one but I am finally getting one next month. It seems so easy to make food so I am so excited!

For the beans – I’ve made pinto and black beans in the instant pot, both the same way: 2 cups beans, 4 cups water and then all my seasonings, give it a mix and put them in for 25 mins… they cook perfectly. If you don’t like the excess water you can just drain it, I leave it in the container so the beans don’t try out in the fridge. I’ve also used my hand blender and made the pinto beans into refried beans, I just drain the bean water and keep that bean water and add it back as I blend

Hi Kiki – I see your Pop Train spices have no oil, but for whatever reason the ones sold on Amazon do. I wonder if they changed it, either added or took it away or they were purchased elsewhere? I did notice yours says "nutritional yeast seasoning" and theirs says "superfood seasoning", so I wonder if they changed it.

Also, like you, I do not love regular brown rice but really like Basmati and Jasmine Brown rice, it has a really nice flavor to it.

Thanks for all your fun and inspiring videos! From a fellow Coloradoan.

Hey Kiki, again, I LOVE your channel!
Have you ever eaten a cooked, but cold, sweet potato? It tastes like pumpkin pie! I batch cooked like you do, and when I went to prepare them the next day, and I tried one cold just to see. It was awesome! I put some cinnamon on it which made it even better!

How can Pop Train's Olive Oil & Herb have 0 fat when it contains macadamia, dried olive, and cashews? Where did you purchase that and the butter flavor? Do you like Benson's Table Tasty, or does it not really taste like salt? Thanks 🙂

So glad to see you glammed down, and hair in a messy pony for a change. It was quite refreshing! It’s something about the realness of it all that keeps me connected. I see that I need some appliances. Thank you for keeping us on point with the recipes! ♥️

I don’t like brown rice either and I’ve cooked it on the stovetop, instant pot and my Japanese rice cooker. Theres like a starchy coating on it that I don’t like. HOWEVER …. someone posted a method on fb and it’s delish!!! It smells like popcorn when it’s cooking. I love it!! You need a regular rice cooker though.

    1 1/2c brown basmati rice
    1/2c sweet brown rice
    1T mirin
Soak rice for at least 12 hrs. No longer than 20. Drain and put in rice cooker. Add 18 oz water and cook. So so good with none of that coating.

I hardly ever use my air fryer. I bought a new one, then used it once!! I don’t know what to put in it! I am figuring out my instant pot. If I cook pinto beans in it, I’ll soak the beans overnight and then set them at 55 minutes. Them come out great!

Thank you Kiki for all you show us! It's always good to see new ways (examples) of making things and the products you use! I just wanted to give you a little feedback…and I'm not being mean in any way, but would you be able to do the videos without the nose ring? I'm only asking because it is distracting and I find myself looking at it and having to rewind several times to see what you were actually talking about. Thank you again and this was just to give you some feedback. I really love you and your content!
