SpotTheScotts: BBQ BEEF BRISKET in the INSTANT POT! ~ RV LIFE {#208}

One of our FAVORITE recipes. Previously we always made it in the slow cooker and it took us a couple of tries to properly adapt it to the instant pot, so you’ll see some cut-ins that you don’t usually see in our videos. We didn’t want to put this out until we got it right 🙂

You’ll Need:
2-3lb beef roast (try tender chuck roast)
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup ketchup (we like organic)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
2 Tbs worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dry mustard

Directions:
For the rub:
In a small bowl mix chili powder, garlic, crushed red pepper, celery seed and black pepper. Rub onto the meat.

Place meat in Instant Pot (or slow cooker).

For sauce:
Mix ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, worcestershire sauce and dry mustard. Pour over meat. If desired, make a 2nd batch of sauce for serving with the meat.

In Instant Pot: cook on manual setting (high pressure) for 60 mins. Let natural release for 15 mins and then vent for any remaining pressure.

In slow cooker/crock pot: cook on low for 8 hours.

Cut or shred finished brisket.

    I love instant pot!>>>ur2.pl/1052 I don't have to have multiple appliances to do it all! I especially like the pressure cooker section of this product. It's just big enough for one-two person household to make meals in it. The recipes for this appliance is easy to follow and doesn't require a lot of effort to make meals! I love that you can just throw everything in and it takes less time to make meals versus trying to do it with more than one appliance.

    My grandfather was a farmer. Raised hogs, cows & chickens and have huge vegetable gardens. He also owner a restaurant and many other businesses in town. He had his own family recipe for BBQ sauce that is really close to this one. I had never eaten bottled sauce until I met my in-laws. I still make this sauce & my sons wives have learned to make it. I blend it right in an old catsup bottle and keep it in the fridge. One tip he gave was to add mayonnaise when using it for chicken. It helps keep the meat moist.

    In another cooking video, I was going to ask about the cutting board. I have noticed the emblem on both of your hats and shirts. I was curious as to what it was. I think now, it means Colorado? Enjoy the cooking videos a lot. I have an 8 qt digital pressure cooker and was wondering if it was the same thing as the Instant Pot. I have seen Kali cook in hers and come close to ordering one for the RV. Any thoughts on the difference of the 2 pots? Thanks!

    So the Instant pot was on prime day… and here I am on my 10th video at 6AM. So very sleepy, but must watch more of your recipe videos. You two do a great job, I'm excited for it to arrive and make some of recipes. Thanks for your channel!

    I've been working on converting some of my favs to the instant pot. The timing had tricked me a few times, but that little device is an amazing tool. Everyone should have one!
