Special Edition Mustangs, some of these are regional being available only through a specific district sales office and still other …
Great review of the specials that were available back then. Don is a great guy and very knowledgeable about Mustangs.
You might be as knowledgeable as JERRY HELMLEY ON YOUTUBE = I think that’s his last name correct
Another awesome video…. never knew all these. Living in near Valley Forge, surprisingly no Spirt of 76 edition in 1976 .
Omg those commercials were pitiful = lol = no wonder why they didn’t sell well
Most interesting= thank you
Love our 71 Mustang mach 1 351C C6 M code fastback car. Some sweet rides there great information, brother.
Very interesting.. Quite a few versions I was never aware of!!
Excellent video. I was aware of some of these, but not others. When the GT/CS came out, a neighbor a couple blocks away bought one and parked it in his driveway. I saw it every morning when I pedaled my butt to school (Special Edition Stelber Charger with 3-speed hand grip shifter; try finding info on THAT). I loved that Mustang, and I swore I would buy a new one in a few years. Of course, it was one year only, and I was bummed. However, in August of 1973 a CS showed up in the local paper, being sold by the original owner who had purchased it from local Ford dealer Galpin, which was heavy into performance stuff those days. It was dead stock, C-code 289-2V, 4-speed with P/S, PDB, Sunex glass and deluxe full wheel covers. The seller, in his 20's, almost backed out because his girlfriend was crying her eyes out over the sale of that car.
This was during the heyday of the Van Nus Blvd cruising/street racing culture, and I put an 8500 rpm 289 in it and lived the life. I have billions of stories. Anyway, it eventually got parked in the garage. Now, it is still with me, and restoration is underway. It will be a Day Two car with one of the six 427's I have. Never rust, never dinged, never in the Registry. I still have the blue plastic warranty card with the original guy's name on it. I wonder if he is still alive…
Would like to see about the V6 pinto
Definitely pics out there for the Mustang E and the 69 Going Thing
Eu tenho um MACH 1 aqui no Brasil, com entradas de ar na lateral e capô com SCOOPEER………BELO VIDEO..
Great video! Very informative! 👍
Very informative video Tony. Glad I could be of help to put this thing together. I want to see a part 2 that include the newer Mustangs. Thanks for the shout out.
If I could have one rare Mustang, it would be the twister special orange Mach 1.
Very well put together documentary. As a child, I distinctly remember someone owned a Mustang down the street from us that had a "California Special" badge on the rear quarter and it had quad taillights and a unique front end. Looking back on that, being in Detroit, I suppose people could pull strings and order hard to get models.
So many different specials, dang, who would have thought.
Always a good time watching Tony's videos! 😎👍
Very cool video. I never knew there were that many special edition mustangs. Thanks for you two doing all this research and sharing it!
I'm from Indianapolis Tony and those pics and film on the track was pretty cool. I have one of those pace cars! IN A DIE CAST!🤣I'm very fond of the CaliforniaSpecials so thinks for covering the history on them. Have a good one Tony and thanks again. 👍
Keep them coming 👍
At 12:06 I never saw a Sports Roof Mustang with a Vinyl Top before , was that factory ??
Unique but not fan of special run vehicles. Always gives thoughts of half efforts on standard models.
