On the video y'all said y'all did a taste of Italy for Mr. John and a taste of Chicago for Ms. Kristie. Did y'all prepare that and if so are there recipes for what was prepared and if so can you do a video and post them on the video description. If it was at a restaurant what restaurant was it.

I believe I need to be sitting in one of those empty chairs! All looked amazing! I made a big pot of 15 bean cajun soup and added a cup of dried blackeyed peas in it. Made in my new crockpot brand express multi cooker. It's instant pot. lol I make the soup exacly like you made the peas except I had to use ham hocks. No pork jowl to be found. Added sauted andouille sausage, too. Had it over popcorn rice with cornbread. With a side of turnip greens cooked with lots of bacon. All was all wonderful, too. I ate way too much! What was in the marinade, Brooks? I want to try that but no smoker. I'll use my ninja foodie grill. It does an amazing job on everything. Happy New Year! ❤

I'm originally from south central Pennsylvania so I always made pork and sauerkraut. Since moving to East Tennessee, I have added black eyed peas to the New Year's Day menu. Thanks for sharing your day!

I really wished that me and my wife lived close to or in the proximity of y'all and we would have asked if we could've joined y'all as I said before due to my wife being sick and me not doing a whole lot of cooking big meals like this. Also we had a Thanksgiving meal but no Christmas meal. Maybe I'll look into doing something like y'all did with the restaurant in helping provide a Thanksgiving and Christmas meal for those in our area who are less fortunate and not able to have a meal whatever the case may be. Y'all are a real blessing and inspiration to our family and we really enjoy all you do and the videos you put out. Thank you and God bless.

Growing up in louisiana, the peas are wisdom, rice is fertility, greens is money. We always had cornbread and pork. I think the porch is luck. Never had anything for cornbread even though we had it, I like the gold.
