    Is the amount of broth right? It looks like it would need at least another cup of liquid, maybe two cups, unless the lentils are soaked (and they're not) Although maybe it's supposed to turn out kinda dry to use it like meat in tacos.

    Also, have you ever tried using dried chipotle peppers for smoke? (I like the smaller dark "morita" kind better than that big gray-brown chipotles that I think are call "mora", and the moritas are cheaper and easier to find) But be careful; they are very hot. That heat would be good in tacos.

    I'll try a half a batch (I will be the only one eating it) later this week, using chipotles for the paprika, and cumin instead of fennel. The cooking time should be about the same. I have the long brown rice and lentils already and was trying to figure out what to do with them. Thanks.
