Thank you for sharing your organizing…it encourages me to get my closet tidied. You are such a sensible mom, I totally agree with that multi-type system of cleaning the kids' rooms.

Iโ€™m really hoping to go through our entire house and minimize after Christmas- having less means thereโ€™s less to maintain which equals less overwhelm and I need that! This gave me inspiration to go through my own closet!

When our girls were younger my husband made them loft beds with shelving underneath. It doubled the storage space in their rooms and as they got older we added a fold-down shelf to use as a desk.

I have a suitcase that goes in the vehicle that holds extra mitts, toque,, ski pants, Snow Goose coat, Sorels (boots) along with blankets, crank style flashlight, matches, candles, pressed fire log, electric kettle (works off cigarette lighter) energy bars, snow shovel and I pack water every time I leave home. I used to drive 2500 miles every month to get to work so you had to be prepared. If you are getting a three way lug nut wrench don't buy the pretty shiny chrome one go to an autoparts store that sells the heavy duty ugly one (more like a farmer would use). The shiny chrome one's will snap at the lug nut and there is nothing worse than trying to change a tire and the one tool you need is broken.

I need to go through my shoes. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ I have several pairs that haven't seen the light in a few years.
I have half to 2/3 less clothing than my husband. Got it down to 4 target bins and a few hanging pieces.

You may say you have so many shoes but what woman doesn't? I will say as I go back even two years ago watching 'haul' videos and 'cleaning' videos, I will say that from even three years ago: you do not age! Your youthful looks and enthusiasm is remarkable when I think of all you have to accomplish in the week. And you always look nice and you just glow when you do what you love' baking, cleaning, helping Warren in the cranberry fields. Keep doing what you're doing. I love watching all your tips.

Itโ€™s so funny you posted this today. I sat down to watch as soon as I cleaned out our bedroom closet. I promised myself I was going to go through all of my clothes and shoes in the dressers & laundry room this week bc I realized I have entirely too many things that havenโ€™t been worn in years. I donโ€™t know why I hold on to things I never wear but itโ€™s a real problem. Lol.

Also, your red heels ๐Ÿ‘  ๐Ÿ˜ I had a pair of heels just like that that had black around the toes and heels. I always felt like a knockout when I wore those shoes. I would slip them on sometimes when I was feeling down on myself & clean while wearing them! ๐Ÿ˜‚

As far as the kids rooms, my kids are responsible for keeping the room as tidy as they can & I have to give many, many reminders. Usually once a month, either I go in and give it a good deep clean, change sheets, dust, etc or dad does it. (Yes! I only change the sheets once every 3ish or so weeks. They bathe nightly before bed & I donโ€™t see a need to change them weekly unless they were obviously dirty!)

will you be doing any Christmas baking videos? I love those. What changes have you made in your care and parenting of Joe now that he is reaching puberty? How do you explain to him about the changes he's going through? I hope that's not too personal. I wouldn't want to be too personal.

You clean your kids rooms the same as I did. Mine are all adults but watching you clean and organize brought back memories. Sometimes the kids had to clean their own rooms or I would work with them. I also preferred to go at it alone but I would serve them notice that it needed to be cleaned or else I would come in and really clean. They would do a good job as you could expect for children but their rooms would need a mom cleaning once in awhile. If I couldn't see the floor for clothing and toys then I would give them a deadline or I would clean.

my daughter is a bit of a neat freak so i have never really had to worry about her room lol but ugh our son is another different story. he has Tourettes syndrome and it usually goes two ways, super neat and wants everything in its place or messy and disorganized. He is the later. So yes there are many times i go in and either help him or do it myself. though now that he is 14 he isnt a super fan of me going in his room. he has a system and i mess it up! ๐Ÿ˜‚

What neat products and looks like the whole family is being blessed by them. I love you for showing your closet. My side looks the same way. My husband's side has guy stuff on the bottom and all his boots, shoes and such are under the bench outside the back door that leads from the kitchen to the garage. Priorities, right? Well, you did a good job, Jennifer. ๐Ÿ™‚

You have such a beautiful family! I think your oldest son became a police officer, is he still? We treat our police so badly that sometimes I think of him and worry.

Love this video! I will be 75 on my next birthday….grew up in a day when you had 3 pairs of shoes. You had a pair for church, school, and play, and you rarely wore any shoes in the summer. You rotated them around….church shoes became school shoes, school shoes became play shoes and you got new church shoes. We were very poor, but today I have the same rule. I have two pair of tennis shoes and a pair of crocks….but by choice now. Can wear anything to church…no one dresses up. I do follow Fly Lady, and she if right about wearing shoes in the house. No one told me til I was past 60 and now have neuropathy in my feet and legs…my foot doctor told me to never go barefoot in the house…thus the crocks or lace up shoes.
