I have a question – can I just bake it in oven, without having the need to boil it? If yes, then can I use the regular bread tin of baking and what would be the measurements for baking? I am looking to slice it as banana bread.

In india,especially kerala this is called plum cake. we r making it in x mas..just refer kerala plum cake..to get dark color we caramelize sugar
