I like to each most of my food with the absolute minimum of condiments and spices. If I find after a while that the food is a bit bland, that is when I may add a minumum of extra bits and pieces. I may be a bit of a nut but I tend to enjoy so many foods without extras that people think I am a bit of a nut.

With that BBQ/Peas/Rice combination…could even dump some pineapple for a little sweeter/immune boosting flavor. Could also use fish, beef jerky, or even an egg like fried in fried rice.
Great video Sir! Love this series, love the channel! Thank you Blackie!

Very nice Blackie! nice and simple recipe. Thanks! that's great that you can cook the rice and heat the pork at the same time with the Swedish cook kit. I can't find one to save my life, I've googled my brains out to no avail. A couple of months ago I bought what I thought was the Swedish cook set on Ebay. The windscreen and the stove were the right thing, but the cook pot isn't, there are so many other countries that have similar pots. There's no markings on mine so I have no idea, it's painted olive drab in color. I figured oh well, this will have to do. But the top part of the pot (don't know if that's considered the cup?) doesn't nest in to the bottom pot when you flip it over (just like how you cooked the rice and meat at the same time) I had to put my whole weight on it to try and push it down into the bottom pot and the fit is way too tight. No way I could get that to work while trying to cook something without burning myself. Real bummer..the Swedish mess kit is harder to find then hen teeth. It's like the Holy Grail now. I missed out on a great piece of kit.

I got 12 smokers and cookers, including one that was the largest cabinet offset on the west coast when I built it. Where can I get one of those little cookers to add to the collection?

Another good video Blackie! One question with your alcohol burner stove do you leave the fuel in it to store or drain it after each use … I'm talking weeks or months storage ! Thanks Brother !

Another great simple cooking episode! I really like cooking rice in the Swedish kit. Coghlan’s Camp Heat comes in round cans that fit in the Swedish stove perfectly, and one can lasts a long time. I use the main burner to get the water boiling, then the camp heat for low simmer which is better than the simmer ring, and saves alcohol. The small pan holds almost exactly 1 cup at the “step.” Burn some lines on your new spatula for 1 cup, 2 cups, 3 cups when spatula stands vertically in the main pot. I am looking for a new Blackie video every day now. I want to come to one of your gatherings soon!

I’ll bet some squirrel or bunny meat fried in a little hard bacon grease along with the rice seasoned with a ramen noodle chicken packet would be MMMMM. I also love dried split peas. I buy some hard dried country bacon from Turkey Foot Traders. It doesn’t require refrigeration but must be soaked a few times to get rid of the salt and to help rehydrate the bacon. Excellent stuff!
