You are so adorable. Loved this presentation and have saved the recipe! I want to have a gumbo themed party & this is perfect timing. I will definitely use this recipe. I love that you used fish sauce, I have been using that and anchovies for so many things lately. Adds a great depth of flavor.
A) Great video!
B) What does filé actually taste like? I’ve had it as an alternative gumbo thickener when peeps didn’t want to use okra, but I’ve never seen it used as a seasoning. I’m picturing something like unsweetened root beer, but I don’t actually have any idea.
I keep watching this over and over. Can’t keep my eyes off the nice blue shirt. Not sure what your saying.
Well executed! You're clearly from Louisiana and your cooking techniques show it remarkably. Nice recipe. Yes, the fish pieces aren't exactly typical but it works and looks delicious. I'd like to see you make a Viet/Creole version of pho, a good banh mi, and your favorite salad.
NO SOUP FOR YOU 😋
People, I love you, but butter doesn't go in gumbo. Love everything else about this recipe! I need to start making my own seafood stock.
OMG I want to jump in that pot!
Nini Nguyen you are so so so so gorgeous 💐🌸💮🏵️🌹🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷
Is it wrong to make gumbo without okra? Cause I love gumbo, but I can't stand okra…
Nini was great! Would definitely love to see her do a traditional vietnamese Pho with beef, tendon, and all the good stuff 🙂
Yeah shout out to Lafayette. Love potato salad in my gumbo. I’m definitely going to try this recipe.
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ NiNi
Thank you!
Wonderful, can't wait make this!
Just added this to my Favorites. Thank you.
I’d love to see the Vietnamese version of chicken soup! Seems like every culture has their own.
Beautiful on every level.
Pho please.
Yum……
Aww…she's adorable! Yes, fish sauce makes everything taste better. 🙂 I'd love to see if she knows how to make the stuff from The Boiling Crab as it's also owned by Vietnamese people. The seasoning they use on their seafood is to die for!
This vid is really educational on several fronts, thanks! Just wondering, since I don’t use pulverized onion and garlic, would it change much if I leave them out given they’re in the dish in their fresh version? Thanks!
Like em hella thick.
Dam. Busting out.
Even before seeing the list, I knew the "surprising" ingredient would be fish sauce
