Not to mention other than the name of the pub and the haggis, the cuisine has nothing specifically Scottish about it …. I love the fact that Eric believes it's made of intestines and hormones!🤣

Yorkshire pudding was originally served as an appetiser to temper the appetite and make the meat go further, typically you would use it to mop up all that extra gravy. You can however have it sweet with jam or syrup. Scone looked nice but would be better with jam and cream. Beans on a Sunday Roast where did they get that from, but that fish looked amazing.

With the sous vide technique available to every restaurant, there is no excuse for any of them to ever serve a tough roast beef again.

Wondering why Eric is looking for anything “sweet” on a Sunday Roast Beef Dinner… the beans definitely don’t belong there, esp. if they are “sweet” (which British baked beans aren’t supposed to be)…

I thought yorkshire pudding was supposed to be sweet too. But I found it was not a sweet bread when I had tried it. I still liked it. I am amazed that Japan has a Scottish pub and restaurant.

What happened to the Jazz in the last post – more Jazz please. And I have posted before. Don't eat English food in Japan. Since when does roast beef come with baked beans !
If you want English food -come to England, where we have Jazz and proper roast beef and proper curry and by the way we hold our knife and folk properly. Once you learn to use your knife and fork, it becomes easier to eat.
Meanwhile – on Jazz- listen to Gilles Peterson – find him !!

Yorkshire puds are a savoury. It was originally to fill you up with stodge and gravy at the start of the meal to help families stretch a small portion of meat around a whole family. And haggis is dry hence the wee drop whisky and lots of butter in the mash and the mashed swede (turnip if you're Scottish) Actually it's tumpshie!! (Ooh and vegetarian haggis is surprisingly close to the real thing)

That fish and chips looked so good, and for once genuinely like something we would get in a british pub. It always bugs me when you get multiple pieces of fish, its always 1 big piece of fish in UK.

Hopefully you were there for the 6 Nations Game and thank you for using Vinegar on your fries. The roastbeef looked good but it was tough … what a shame! What’s with the beans ? The rest looked a little off to me including the haggis … thanks for the trip though!
