Wow, I do appreciate your talking about sugar addiction because I am certain it was the source of my morbid obesity. Becoming a vegan in 2020 and eating fruit everyday helped with my addiction. But it is still a temptation and if I eat anything I go through withdrawal for at least a week! I always have dates in my freezer in order to make sweet treats and it has changed my life. Halloween is a problem because it shows up in the stores at the end of August! Crazy!

I agree with other comments wholeheartedly. I started following you a month ago and I love watching all the interviews but it was so nice to hear a little bit more detail about your background. I love you analogy about juggling and riding a unicycle. So important to address addictions before trying to lose weight. Thank you so much for all of the goodness you put out into the world❤

The upcoming Jewish holidays of Rosh Ha Shonah, Yom Kippor break- fast and then Succos I am the host/ cook. I have to refrain from baking, cooking, buying Vegan treats for me because I will start out of control spiral. So I already have a plan to cook compliant for myself, and my family will get their traditional ( non- vegan-non- compliant) kosher prepared foods. I will not try to please everyone with my cooking skills. Those days are done.

Watching the replay and oh, I wish I had caught this live!! First time I've watched a video of you about YOU – not that I don't enjoy the interviews, but you know what I mean! Your comment about dates looking like cockroaches made me chuckle – I STILL think that sometimes!!! Sugar was the easiest of the SOS for me to quit in some ways, because fruit is such an easy substitute. Whereas it took more adjusting for me in terms of oil and especially salt. For me salt was definitely the hardest to quit!!

I SOooooo appreciated that 1 sentence, HUGE GEM for me right now in the space that I'm in:
That food addiction + weightloss are 2 different problems that need addressing. Even though they are tied together, they are not necessarily the same… I gotta go back and write it down word for word and meditate on that. Thanks Chef AJ! 👩‍🍳

Enjoyed the backstory! You are so right about slip ups on Halloween fun-size candy. Had just one mini-snickers from hubbies Halloween stash today and found myself immediately going back for more and more. Told him to hide it good, or get it out of the house. 😀. Oh well new sugar free date of 9/19/2022. It’s amazing how years after no sugar ones brain is still ohhh yum yum, more please …

Hey Chef AJ I would love to sign up and take your class. But they are on Saturdays and I would not be able to cook on Saturdays because it’s the Sabbath. Would you consider one of ur classes in the future being on a Sunday. Or at sunset on Saturday. If not thank u for all u do. I’ve learned so much from u.

Big take away for me is agave is as bad as high-fructose corn syrup! Thank you for explaining this so simply, Chef AJ! Btw, you need anyone as a taster? To take leftovers off your hands? Hmm…😉😁 This was a terrific broadcast. I so enjoy when it's YOU. 💟🙏
