What kind of pumpkins do I have to buy? Like I can't use the big jack o'lantern pumpkins can I? I've always wanted to do this but I don't know what to get.

Christine you need to mention your older videos😀 You have great content, just the YouTube algorithm was keeping you hidden🙃 FYI 100% puréed pumpkin is sold out in most areas of the US right now. You can buy it for $4 a can or make your own from Pie pumpkins😀 Even pie pumpkins were sold out until this week…

Thank you for sharing this way of cooking pumpkins!
A stick blender will also work well for this. I just stick blend in the pot (after skin is removed from the pumpkin). And I freeze in the amounts I need for my normal recipes – that way I don't have to guess if I've thawed enough for my recipes. Usually 1 1/2 to 3 cup amounts does the job. I use zip bags, squish the air out, then flatten and freeze them. they can be stored either flat or standing up in the freezer.

🌻My mom would boil a pumpkin with cinnamon, cloves etc and we'd make empanadas! I got 3 pumkins waiting for me but I'm slow since I'm at the end of my pregnancy. Boiling the pumpkins makes the house smell so autumn-ish!🌻
