As a western colorado born whose neighbors are ranchers with salt crusted cowboy hats…..rocky mountain oysters used to be consumed in slim times. Now the ranchers just throw them in a bucket after castrating the steers to sell to the local tourist town local restaurants and we watch tourists "live in ol west times" and we laugh. Testicle are awful and chewy, when we have plentiful beef, we don't have any idea why people voluntarily eat the oysters.

You city folk have no idea how these are collected and if you did you would freak the F out. Alive no pain meds just cut the bottom sack off and rip them testes out and lamb fries you take out with your teeth, too small and slimy to grab with your hands. As a kid in the 70's both parents got TB and we all had to be quarantined in the asylum separated from each other. To this day I test positive to the TB test but never caught it.

Tuberculosis is VERY contagious but if you have a good immune system your body can fight it off. Also TB bacteria has a thick waxy coating that is difficult for your white blood cells to penetrate so your immune system will encase the TB in something called a tubercle which separated the infection from the larger body. The downside of this is after you've been infected you may not show any symptoms for years or ever, unless your immune system breaks down due to other illness or malnutrition. Then you'll get infected from an exposure you got ages ago. It's like a little time capsule of death!
