I have made this I don't know how many times now and I am always pleasantly surprised when it turns out good. I add pickled jalapeno peppers and add some of the pickling liquid to the cheese. OMG!!! Out of this planet! Honestly, it does not taste like cheese, but it is amazing on its own right. A must have in your vegan recipe arsenal.

I’m late to this video, all the comments are 4 years ago! First time I tried this recipe, it turned out hard as a brick, plus I didn’t really like the flavor. But today I tried it again with a few tweaks: I used 1 2/3 cup almond milk, 2 tsp arrowroot, 3 tsp lemon juice, 1/3 cup cashews, 1/4 tsp chili powder and 1 tsp salt. Everything else the same. It turned out perfect for my taste this time! So smooth and creamy and I can’t believe it’s not cheese! I’m waiting for my oil free sweet potato fries to finish baking. Yummmm !!!

Finally…something I can try that doesn't have a long list of ingredients. I'm just starting to try more vegan recipes but I have Crohn's disease and after several surgeries there's a long list of ingredients that upset my gut severely, so it's tough to find recipes I can eat. I eliminated milk years ago so I can't remember the last time I had cheese sauce…I'm going to try this with cauliflower.
Thanks for sharing this Jill ! 🌻

I always bang the jar lid against the side of the counter. Works every time. 😉 I love watching your cheese sauce vids. I haven't tried them yet since I haven't planned any meals out with cheese sauce, but I am itching to try some. I have nutritional yeast at home, but I generally just sprinkle mine on air-popped popcorn. I need to get a HUGE jar of it. lol

This flavor is out of this world! Love it! It was s little salty now that I have lowered salt intake , but other than that, it was perfect ! Love your family friendly recipes and sense of humor !

Is there anything you can't do with oats? Since going WFPB I use them in about everything, I especially like to dry blend the oats with a few cashews or hemp seeds, then add whatever broths or liquids and various veggies and combinations to make thickened silky soups and sauces of all kinds, usually right in the blender! I like to use miso and coconut aminos to cut down on the salt a bit and add awesome flavors, but the brine from fermented foods and condiments like green or black olives, capers, pimentos, etc., though certainly not lower in salt sure do add flavor too! Last night I made an awesome WFPB "Newburg" sauce and poured over pasta and some peas with cooked diced winter squash I briefly marinated (with a kelp, rice vinegar and miso brew) sounds weird but pretty yum!

OMG I've been struggling to find a vegan cheese that actually tastes like cheese! I have tried tons of recipes and they have all come out pretty disgusting. I was waiting for this one to be the same, but was HAPPILY wrong! This is amazing! I gave it to my non-vegan family with tortilla chips and they all loved it and couldn't tell the difference. We devoured it. I'm going to try it with Mac and Cheese soon. Thanks!!

Oh my gosh!! This is the first nacho sauce that I actually think might work for me. Of course oats seem weird, but seriously, the ones with potatoes and carrots never make me think of cheese at all! So trying this asap!
