I also add 2 table spoons tomato paste, minced garlic, and garlic salt for an added kick and always turns out good but I have never tried it is an instant pot. I have to try it…

My granny's recipe is about the same for regular southern green beans on the stove, she put ham bits or bacon will do, maybe a touch of veg oil, I add a beef bouillon cube and put enough water to cover and leave the lid off. Let them boil down to almost burned stirring constantly.
Add your salt and pepper at the end of cooking to taste. And that is really old fashioned 1900's or before green beans but this IP recipe might be good too, I'm trying it now. Love the video.

totally love this recipe, you have to be from the south, otherwise you would have just put the pot on 4 min and added about 10 other ingredents, which isn't green beans, southern style anyway. love it, tks Nicky

Coming from a "deep South" family of fabulous cooks, I can tell you that Southern-style vegetable preparation was my least favorite. Mushy veg ain't appetizing. Nothing is more unappetizing than "olive green" green beans (or peas or broccoli, etc., etc., etc.) that should be EMERALD GREEN when cooked to the peak of perfection. It's the equivalent of boiling a cut of beef till the cow dies a second death. However, my hat's off to anyone who is pleased with it.

I’m in the middle of making this… can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing! I used sweet potato instead, less carbs.
The only thing is…I wished you’d of paid a little attention to your cat or gave him a treat in between making this video because he meowed so much, I felt bad for him. He/she has the sweetest sounding meow

Good video…just wondering why you cooked the green beans for 30 minutes. Not being critical, just thought it was too long, especially since the added cooking time of 10 minutes for the potatoes…Looks super delicious, will do it in my IPot…I gave up FaceBook about 3 weeks ago…
