    Looks yummy.. I'd definitely try it out!
    But won't the first step of giving dal 5 whistles in the cooker and waiting for the steam to release itself take more than 15 mins?

    I follow the same recipe but in a little different way. I grind tamarind, grated coconut and sambar powder with a mixer and then pour them into sambar. Also i put hing directly into sambar instead of with oggarane/tadka

    I follow your recipes .Nice sambar recipe. One small tip.
    To avoid dhall water coming out of cooker nozzle, apply little oil in the inner portion of the lid especially on nozzle opening.
    Otherwise keep a small bowl over dhall inside the cooker.
    Lid and stove will be clean
