We eat plenty of red and white beans over rice where I'm from, but I don't think I've ever tried black beans. This looks tasty. I wonder what it would taste like with sausage?

I am Cuban, love to cook and that was the best recipe. Totally legit. I normally cook my beans in a pot but have been wanting to use my pressure cooker for a long time. You have shown me the way. Thanks

Lynn’s intro music and lame lighting makes me feel like it’s a boring Sunday after football season and it’s raining and gloomy outside. Add some life to it Lynn. I know you hate criticism but I’m just being honest

I love this cooker!>>>arah.in/KIUv I grew up around pressure cookers in the kitchen, and knew of the danger that they could blow up if not properly taken care of. This cooker almost makes it impossible to fail. The fact that it's electric was originally why I was attracted. I usually prepare meals on Sunday for my husband and I to last the week. This cooker has made it possible for me to cut the cooking time in half, without changing the quality of the meals. It was a great purchase, I'm happy I did it.

You are right. It is better to rinse them after soaking.
As this stale water can cause gases to build up in the digestive system.
I like to cook my beans with diced beetroot.
I have an stove based pressure cooker. So I guess once it is level two, cook for twenty minutes on very low heat.
Switch off, and let steam off for 10. Should be done. If not just boil another then, without covering.

    Thanks for posting.

I love black beans and that recipe looks great!  I've noticed everyone now is using the Tristar Pressure Cooker now in there videos.  It looks like a great cooker and nice for small meals instead of getting the huge canning pressure cooker out.  I was wondering did you get the pro series or the regular one?

Hi Lynn. I love your Cuban Black Beans! i make beans often because they are so nutritious, high in protein and fiber. It´s really good to process a little bit of the cooked beans to thick the result. I make it too. I really like to add cilantro and cumin for extra flavour.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Love,

    Patricia.

Hi Lynn! I'm so glad you prepared another pressure cooker dish. One of the reasons I wanted pressure cooker, was to cook beans that I started from dry. The dried have more fibre, even after you cook, than the canned variety. This recipe looks wonderful. I wonder if your measuring cups are in your website store? They are so pretty…similar to Le Creuset. I find that attractive cooking gear inspires me to cook well. The kitchen atmosphere matters to me too. You have a very nice kitchen, as well as good pots and pans, appliances, and gadgets! Have a wonderful evening. ~ Julia
