In my home country, we don't use pressure cookers that much but I moved to Spain 2 years ago and I was very surprised to see how much they use it. I was sold on the idea a long time ago because it's great to be able to cook things like lentils really fast (the way they cooked lentils in the video is exactly how I learned to cook them)

In Turkish kitchen it is a pretty common thing to have. As opposed to the common opinion, it is mainly used for beans, soups and stocks rather than meat.
As I went vegan, pressure cooker became my best friend since I can cook legumes fast and I can cut down on soaking time as well. I feel like it is a must in my kitchen!

My my… in India since time immemorial you use a pressure cooker to cook literally anything. Rice, lentils, meat….. Literally anything. When I got a German exchange student for a room mate she was surprised and amazed by pressure cooker and was saddened she don't get it in Germany…. 🤷‍♀️

Another tasty dish to cook in a pressure cooker: NIHARI!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZOXDAvMCM4 . Its difficult to get the spice mix right for nihari so we use packaged spice mix https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/256576528 . Just fry off garlic ginger onion paste in oil, add meat and bones and the spice mix, fry that off and then add water. Let it cook for an hour in the pressure cooker and then thicken the gravy with slurry. Garnish with fresh ginger, coriander, green chilies and dont forget to squeeze lemon juice. Enjoy with fresh Naans!

They're inexperienced with pressure cookers cuz they're just babies. My (ancient) generation was taught to use them when we learned to cook. Cooks things in approximately 1/3 the normal time. Very little evaporation so use less liquids

I came here to watch the cooking but I was so distracted and COULDN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF OF this bearded guy. He looks like a copy of a guy I was in a relationship for 2 years (ex BF). I loved-hated it. Cheers from London xxx

Hey hey hey, you chuckle when you say ''if you don't have an oven'' but as someone who lives in a council flat with a kitchen so small I had to chose between a fridge or a oven (obviously a fridge) these reviews are genuinely helpful………… as are individual induction hobs 😂

risotto is a dish most home cooks can not be bothered to cook. After work, with kids running around demanding your attention is not risotto time. BUT in a pressure cooker it is something you could do without being chained to the stove.

Never used a pressure cooker. I did buy a very small one (2l) just to cook dried beans. I love that dried beans are shelf stable and in pandemic times they're good food to have in the pantry. For the two of us it's just the right size and I can make a bean dish on short notice without having to resort to using canned beans. Other than that I have no desire to use a pressure cooker.

pressure cookers are also used a lot here in the UK, i think most families i knew growing up used them as it meant you could have a lot of meat based meals done cheaper and quicker for school days

Honestly, when I moved to australia, i was shocked that people boil lentils, rice, quinoa etc in pots rather than pressure cooker. takin years to cook with a risk of burning.

Italian here: risotto in a pressure cooker really gives good results! nothing like the joy of cooking it the traditional way but if you come home late from work you just put it on while you shower or what not and in 10 minutes you have a good risotto for a family of four.
