You mentioned the chili was made the day before canning it. Did you reheat the chili before filling your jars? I thought the food, jars, and lids all have to be hot when canning.

HELP!!! I have a canning question. I have watched many videos and I’m not sure anyone has answered it. I hear to let the cancer vent a steady stream of steam for 10 minutes then add your weight and build to pressure. What if the nipple has not risen at 10 minutes, do I wait for that then add my weight or doesn’t it matter?

The recipe reminds me a bit of Zippy's famous chili in Hawaii. They will serve it over spaghetti noodles, loco moco, burritos, all KINDS of stuff. YUM! Good on ANYTHING!

Can you do a recipe with all fresh ingredients. I'm not sure about using canned ingredients to re preserve as canning chilli. I'm sure the texture will last longer on the shelf.
