I make Kolachki too!! Mine is a recipe passed down from my great great grandparents that came from the Ukraine. I do prune, apricot and walnut filling. My grandma taught me how to make them. She left us this year. I will carry on this tradition for our family. She always used canned fillings and I couldn’t find them this year. So I made them from scratch and I’m never going back to canned! So good!! Merry Christmas!

You can make your own powdered sugar by grinding regular sugar in like a coffee grinder or spice grinder.

Pinball if you have a coffee grinder and regular white sugar, you can make powdered sugar. Try making a 1/4 cup of white sugar at a time. It is quick and easy. We do Italian (7fishes and pasta) and Slovak (nut rolls, bobalky, pierogi, and sour mushroom soup) my kolaky never stay shaped but taste great
