I lost, lost a jar of yacai because I just couldn’t add it to everything without my family reenacting the French Revolution 2.0 (bought it to make Fuschia Dunlop’s Dandan noodles). So yeah, pickled chinese vegetables like mustard greens yacai that’s not noodle stirfry… Thanks for the episode, doing that vietnamese piz for sure!

Cool video! Thanks!!! Got some great ideas! As for Kimchi – DO IT! We live in a tiny apartment and I make a batch every 2 weeks (my hub lived in South Korea for 16 years & eats it with EVERYTHING). It's easy and doesn't smell up the place. HINT: Get a packet or 2 of NOH Kimchee Powder; a jar of the Viet Nam chili sauce – and for a nice little kick, garlic red wine vinegar.

You can definitely make kimchi in your apartment. I use Emmymade’s recipe (on YouTube) which I believe is a small scale riff off of a Maangchi recipe. Definitely recommend it. It’s is super simple and so delicious

Beryl, I believe you may have the wrong kind of Maggi seasoning in the last recipe. I think the Maggi Seasoning called for is "Maggi Original Liquid Seasoning Sauce" , which is something akin to worcestershire sauce or soy sauce. It's a salty, umami sauce with tonnes of glutamates that is incredibly delicious. It's very popular in Singapore where my mother is from (I've even seen it at McDonalds in Singapore on the condiments table). It comes in a dark brown bottle with a yellow label and can be found in many countries around the world – it originated in Swizerland!
I would recommend you try that, it's very different to Maggi Magic Masala but is very delicious in it's own way. I love it on cheese toast and it definitely is a delicious addition to a bowl of juk. Gosh that looks good.
