I use diff receipe, but I am going for an entire different flavor than this. I did like the idea though, and the jalapeño tip is so smart! Will be using that for many diff recipes. I really needed to get a reminder on my cook time and setting for this particular cooker, and I ended up enjoying the parts of the video I normally would have skipped through. Thank you!

I am IMPRESSED. Usually, acids keep beans from ever softening up. Using both tomatoes and tomato sauce, I was sure they'd never soften completely. I suppose the high pressure overrides that effect. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for this recipe. I needed to know the length of time and what setting I needed to use in my XL Pressure Cooker. I used smoked neck bones so I cooked them first for 40 minutes in chicken stock. I then put the beans I had rinsed and soaked for an hour into the pot, along with cooked ham chunks, and cooked for 60 minutes. I plan to serve the beans with Homemade Hoe Cakes.

This is not a criticism so please don't be offended. You did mention checking for dirt and rocks but did you mention washing them? I put mine in a bowl with water and swish them around, rinse and repeat. Sometimes they are really dirty.I really enjoy your video!! Adios. Amigo.

I made this using my trusty 40+ year old stovetop pressure cooker. (I love that thing.) I have made pintos in there many a times but never with the tomatoes and sauce. I added sliced garlic and WOW, this is wonderful. This is my new pinto bean recipe. I did use ham concentrate instead of the chicken. That is what I had. I want to try different types of beans this way…mayocoba, navy, great northern maybe even black beans. What type of bean do you think will work? Thank you for sharing.😍👍

Doesn't anyone on here know how to make pinto beans and hamhocks? There is never any tomato anything in it. You damn Yankee's need to learn to cook.

It's all about the smokie flavor of the hamhocks and the great beans.

I do agree with the pressure cooker though. Heck our grandma's were cooking with them before any of us were born.

I LOVE our power pressure cooker xl and use it every week. I've never put tomato sauce in my pinto beans now will have to try your recipe. A tip for making beans, if you pre boil your water it will only take about one minute to come to pressure when starting. I just boil a tea kettle full while sorting and washing my beans. Thanks for the video 😁

I’ve watched several videos of how to make my pintos the way my momma taught me and this video is the best. Exactly what I was looking for. First time using my pressure cooker so I appreciate all of the details of how it works and for how long. Wish me luck! 🤞🏼
