It looks like the wild rice hasn’t opened up. Isn’t that preferable?
I totally agree! I love my instantpot, but not for rice. Thanks for the video AJ!
I use the manual button on my IP with equal amounts rice and water. Cooking time varies from 3 to 28 minutes depending on the type of rice. Natural pressure release.
What a great idea to mix the grains. Thanks chef AJ and also good for doggies 🙂
If you do not use an Instant Pot for your rice, WHY is your title card Instant Pot Perfect Rice?
Thank you for sharing! Have a blessed week! Wendy❤️🥶🐞
Wash your rice with water until the water is clear and not cloudy. I do it about 10 times before cooking.
What brand of rice cooker is it Chef AJ? That does look like amazing rice outcome!
Yum, thanks!!! 🏡💟❄🍎🐱⛄☕🍟
I get perfect rice now. Use manual 4 minutes.
I watched a recipe from Ming Tsai and he does half brown half white but soaks the brown for an hour before cooking them together. It comes out really well!
Just so u know ive made perfect rice in the insta pot two cups of rice to 4 cups of water , using rice button 😉
LOL "mod squad"
Wow!! 3 different rices that’s good!
I always rinse rice off w water before cooking in my rice maker. It removes excess starch and dirt from it’s journey of being handled during picking and packaging.
Chef AJ, I love watching your videos. You have taught me so much. Thank you. We have a rice cooker, but I've been afraid to use it. I've just been making the pouches of rice in the microwave. It's about time I learned how to make rice in the rice cooker! Thanks for showing me. I have been following a plant based diet (and eventually plant exclusive) for 4 years. I am really enjoying your weight loss summit. So many great speakers, and I'm always learning something new. The past year has been a rough one for many people, and your videos are my little escape every day. My grown daughter announced this week, that she's moving out. I was just reflecting back on all the memories, and thinking how fast the years have flown by, and feeling a bit sad that I'm going to miss her, when your video came on. Good to see you Chef AJ. And Bailey too, so cute, she made an appearance in the background.
No need for any fancy machines. Soak and rinse your grains as much as possible like 24 hours for brown rice 48 for beans 1-2 hours for quinoa. Drain in a fine sieve. White rice can be tasty by cutting up an onion saute a bit and some (less than 1/2 teaspoon salt for 100 grams of white rice) add curcumin (yellow spice ) then add drained rice. Gently mix. Add twice as much water as rice. Mix . Cover bring to a boil. Lower heat as low as possible. Cook 20 or less minutes until water is absorbed. Take off the heat and let it sit for a while. Perfect rice. Brown rice needs nothing but a bit of salt. I always cook 200 grams of grains at a time. Quinoa need an extremely fine sieve to rinse- but soak them first. Chickpeas taste better the more they are soaked then cooked in salted water. Most people use WAY TOO MUCH SALT when cooking rice.
