Gonna be honest, yes the black beans are a preference but regular brown beans are the way mexicans really make it. Any other way is just a new style of making it. He blew it at Step 1. Mission tortillas are not "tortillas." They're thin flat bread. Not bad, but not a proper larded Mexican tortilla, not even close. This is a carne asada "wrap," not a burrito.
