OMG! I ABSOLUTELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS DISH. MY MOM USE TO MAKE THIS WHEN WE WERE KIDS A LONG TIME AGO. IN HAWAII WITH OUR "PIGEON ENGLISH" WE CALLED PASTELES…. "PAH-TEH-LEI" … SO WE USE TO TELL OUR MOM…"MA, MAKE DA SMASH UP PAHTEHLEI" THAT ALONG WITH "GUNDUDI RICE"……. GEEZE THAT BRINGS BACK SO MANY AWESOME MEMORIES AS KIDS IN HAWAII.
Thank you so much for your video. I've been dying to try and make this but everyone makes it seem so hard, after watching your video I had to try it. #dinnertonight ๐๐๐
wow. thank you for that wonderful recipe, it's diferent but i know it's good, i'll do it this week. and on the side,, arroz con gandules. yesss!!! thank u again…………
I never saw this before but I have made them in packets to boil. My mother is Puertorican and this a typical dish for the holidays. You made it look easy but it takes hours. We use green olives and not black. We put the oil and meat sauce to the masa too to make it change color from the Achoite.
May I just say that I LOVE your videos, they're so natural (more realistic outcomes) and not staged (made to look model-like) like a lot of other people's. Keep doing what you're doing!
Aloha auntie I just found your channel and I love it…it made me miss all my aunties back home…quick question do you know how to make pastele lumpia? I would love to see a tutorial on that… if can mahalo plenty you made me smile today…and very hungry ๐
