rookie mistake! brown your meat first, it gives it more flavor, hon!
When handling the meat, toss with seasoned flour and brown before putting in the pot. The best will look and taste better and the flour will thicken the broth to be like a stew consistency
A good thickener for a recipe like this is instant potatoes but use sparingly cause it swells up some .
Beef stew is thick,and not made with tomatoes,and Lipton onion soup mix is great in it flour your meat and brown it and it will thicken your broth this looks like a soup
