I just cooked Oxtail for the first time this past weekend. Sous Vide is the way to go! first browned them, also did a pan sauce with onions, carrot, celery, garlic, worcestershire sauce, rosemary, bay leaf, beef broth, S&P and MSG and cab sav wine. Reduced and added it to the browned oxtail in a vacuum packed bag and into souz vide for 28 hours at 185 degrees. Flavor is fantastic and beyond tender. Its like the best pot roast ever. Its so good!

Hmm looks delicious. Any advice on how to cook this in a pressure cooker? I've had oxtail cook in pressure cooker with water just covering them for about an hr but it dried out and burned a little.

I made this tonight. Oxtails for the first time. After browning my oxtails, onions and I added some red peppers, I combined the ingredients in a slow cooker and placed it on low for the night. Looking forward to lunch tomorrow.

Ox tail was a treat my grandmother made growing up. She would either do stew or soup she would ask the butcher how much and he would just laugh and tell her they were free because she was the only one who got them anymore and he was just going to have to throw them out

I saw some oxtail at the store and said to myself, "I should get that. I'm sure Chef John has a recipe I can use for it." So I got it, and then this showed up in my recommendations. So long story short, Google can actually read minds.

"Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?"

It was at that moment that every Italian grandmother stopped whatever they were doing and exclaimed: "Something is wrong…"

To the ones who never tasted oxtail: you would never believe "what a difference a tail makes". Not diggin' in too much into disco music, here: just give it a try.

If I’m gonna transfer everything into that pot, you’re gonna need my address, so you can send it to me. 😁 PM me and I will let you know where to send it! ❤️
