7:40 I would love to learn how to make stir-fried rice cakes! Whenever I try to make it at home, it sticks terribly to the wok. I use the same amount of oil as when Iโ€™m stir-frying noodles or fried rice. Maybe I just need to use more oil?

Iโ€™ve always done this the lazy way: glutinous rice flour then add water until it comes together. Then Iโ€™ll roll it into shape and boil them. But Iโ€™m interested to try the flavours and textures of these recipes.

Mandy, you're amazing. I had no idea rice cakes could be made so easily. I thought they were all factory-made. Thank you so much for this video.

Love asian food but man so much processing and time required !
For people looking for glutenous rice as its not always specified look for ketan. it's deep white grain raher then semi transparent.
Also i wonder what happens if you slice this real thin and deepfry it.

Rice cake r much pricier than rice itself, like $5/lb, so if u can make it easily with rice, it will b far cheaper, as rice is almost $1/lb on sale . About yr ago, rice was around 60 cents/lb on sale, so rice price has gone up like 50%. I actually use a diff method of making rice cake. I cook the rice first, with extra water, and take cooked rice and massage/smush into rice cake logs.

I have never had rice cake. I only watched your video because I like your channel. I have cooked other foods from your channel, I'm just not a fan of rice. I would try rice cake if someone else made it, I'm happy to try new foods so long as they don't contain shrimp, I'm deadly allergic to that tasty food. I might not mind it if I hated it…
