I would have liked to know more about the others – but of course this is basically an America’s Test Kitchen commercial for their sponsors I assume. America’s test kitchen does not give anything away for free. Well that’s capitalism for you. The rich get richer and we all know the rest of the story.
I was very interested in finding a good recommendation for a new Dutch oven. Imagine my surprise when this review was IDENTICAL to the one you did 3 years previously. You even showed the same cracked lid. Every detail was the same. The only change was a different reviewer. Even the script was the same. It makes me doubt the validity of ALL of your reviews.
I'm South African, and you absolutely butchered the pronunciation of "potjie". So bad that I had no idea what you said at first. It's pronounced "poi-kee", literally meaning "small pot", which is funny because the most often used ones are huge. Sorry, we just take our braais (similar to BBQ, but don't you dare call it a BBQ) and potjiekos (potjie food) very seriously. So serious in fact that we have a national braai day every year on the 24th of September. FWIW, South Africans generally consider the 3-legged round bottom cast iron pot a "potjie". These Dutch ovens are called a "platboom" pot in certain areas, referencing the flat bottom in the name, or just a cast iron pot in other areas
I have a 7 qt Le Creuset and a 6 qt Lodge, both shown above. I find they each have their specific uses. I do like the Lodge specifically for that inner roundish design. Both are excellent work horses.
" Le Creuset makes all of its stainless-steel cookware in Portugal. Its stoneware collections are made in Thailand, and its kitchen accessories are made in China." MADE IN CHINA!!!
These reviews are rigged😁. Staub la cocotte oven is much better then Le Creuset. Heavier, better lid, more durable interior enamel, seals of inside perfectly. Less liquid loss. Condensation on the lid drips back to the pot by evenly spaced bubbles on the lid underside which is flat. Le Creuset lid is convex so liquid inside flows on the walls of the pot causing burn rings. The lid is lighter. Meat tends to stick in Le Creuset during searing. So they even did not mention Staub oven?, why? Cause Le Creuset has giant marketing budget to promote their products. Kind of like Budweiser beer, monkey piss not beer. Stupid people fall for these phony America Test Kitchen reviews like kids for candy.
The black le creuset handle feels like it could be plastic when I flick it with my finger. I came to YouTube to find out could I put my le creuset with the black handle in the oven. Hmm…
I bought a red enameled, no-named Dutch Oven from Target over fifteen years ago and that thing has held up like no one's business. It has straight sides, conducts heat evenly and there's not a single chip or crack to be seen anywhere. If I were to get knitpicky it does have smaller handles but that's a non-issue for me. I think it cost me $30 and I feel like I found a treasure in the wild!
Maybe TTK should revisit this? Your getting a lot of bad reviews for recommending your 2nd choice. The world watching looks up to you. I won't buy it now that I finally have the money to. 🙄
Just look up your 2nd choice reviews on Amazon. Quite disturbing. 🤐
Throw this Le Creuset into Woodstock Ideal Steel Hybrid stove.
The name of all the pots please
I just purchased a Le Creuset dutch oven just like the one in this video TODAY. I am so excited to cook with it and pass it down to a new generation 🙂
Loved this video, very informative!
yeah ill jump right on it, NOT
I love how she said she could carry her kids around in it, as opposed to a whole chicken lol
👍
just bought a Lodge 5.5 DO and was VERY disappointed to find it is made in "China"
Hello!
WAIT!!! The NEW model of Lodge is now flat bottomed with improved enamel at 50 bucks!!!

This whole "can't see the thermometer because the bottom is dark" is a pretty silly reason.

Tjmaxx! 169$ for a red one!
Dutch oven I use involves some stank gas
What do u think of a brand Tramontina? Very inexpensive also looks identical to enamel Le Cruset
Why there is no mention of lodge enameled Dutch oven . I think they are sponsored by cusinart
I bought a Bruntmor 2 in 1, from Amazon and the lid can be used to cook as well.
There is nothing wrong with the Dutch oven that does not have a porcelain enamel coating!! Those were used for hundreds of years.
Man! I want the rest of this video that shows how each of them did with those tests in different categories!

I love my Staubs 😊
No dutch oven can top the one under my blanket
Does anyone know how many cups of rice can be cooked in a 7.25 qt round Le Creuset Dutch oven? Thank you.
Have you tried Misen ?
Staub in my family wins!
Best French cast iron Dutch oven!
For as wedded as the Test Kitchen is to Le Creuset, they could at least pronounce it correctly. It's not LAY Creuset.
They are very colorful 💕
You can get a quality one for free just find a partner whos lactose intolerant, feed them ice cream then stick your head under the doona

LeCrueset and Staub dutch ovens are the top of the line. You're welcome.
Please bring back Lisa McManus!
I love my Le Crueset!
I put my girl friend in a dutch oven a few years ago one night when we were in bed. I really miss her. she made a great 3 bean salad
