As someone who has consumed many from the original stand on 1st Ave, it's called a Bagel Dog with Cream. Costco beef dogs were originally used. They were the best 'bar is closing' food to grab in Pioneer Square. Yours looks good!

I’m making this! But seeing that cream cheese is in there , I’ll put it to good use and throw in some slices of jalapeño with the onion to sauté in the pan

Sam, I am a real fan of both your channel and your food. I think it's a little stupid that chefs always taste the food as if it is approved by that. It would be weird if a channel ended up saying how bad the food they just produced is tasting. 😀 Anyway, I don't know if it's an American thing but when I make your food I always get amazed by the amount of fat and calories it includes. You should in theory be twice as heavy but I guess you do a lot of exercises behind the scene.
If I want to give myself a special treat like when people decide for takeaway or just something extraordinary, I often go to your site, and I have never managed any of your recipes without being more than full. I keep my body-scale far from your channel because it would never allow me to watch it even if you deserve your success.
Oh, I write my comment here, because this hot dog was the latest I tried.

I preboil dogs/sausages/brats in beer, chicken broth, dried mustard, and red pepper flakes, with some sliced sweet onions and peppers. Then grill or pan sear the dogs and the onions and peppers. It makes them so good. And for big backyard cookouts you can store the dogs in the beer broth to keep them warm and moist.

When you are in or passing through San Clemente stop by Rose's Dounuts and order the JBC. Jalapeño Bacon Cream Cheese on any bagel they have. You will not be disappointed.
