Japanese beetle on my raspberries are my nemesis! Can't knock them off, can't use a bio incesticide. Knocking them off into soapy water also knocks off the berries. Don't want to use insecticide on an edible. Grrr! Lived this video!

I discovered your channel just as you were beginning your move to Missouri. I so enjoy seeing your progress. You are doing quite well. My favorite line in this video about Washington and predators, "there's like nothing there that will kill you but the government"! You nailed it with just that statement.

Add some peppermint eo to your wash bucket water when you mop and wash windows and wood work. It confuses rodents and bugs sense of direction and they are less likely to want to be in your home. Won’t hurt 🤷‍♀️🤞

Japanese beetles you buy the traps that hang. We put them along the property line in the trees, some put them right next to where they are. I like the dry traps because I dump them in a feed bag at dark and put them on top the burning trash in the burn barrel and listen to them scream. They killed a plum tree here a few years back, they get no quarter after that.

Plug every hole you can find and do not use spray foam. Roaches are drawn to the foam. Steel wool will stop rats and mice but you’ll have to keep grass cut and clean up all the trash and get old wood and compost piles away from the house. Keep them away from out buildings too. Rabbits will eat up your crops and so will squirrel and deer. You must fence yourself gardens in the south
Ps. You will have to keep fire ants at bay too. They will kill crops

We use brillo pads or steel wool, shove it in the hole then use some spray foam to finish sealing.

We just moved October 2021 to our 19 acre homestead. This first spring and summer has been a lot of elbow grease and sweat getting the gardens ready, cleaning the pond out, building the greenhouse and getting the chicken coop area set. BUT WELL WORTH IT!

We've had good luck with the plug in the wall socket sonic rodent repellers. We use them in our kitchen and our cold room. A lot of people say they don't work but I can tell you I've not had to bleach my counters in my kitchen for more than 2 yrs since we started using them and no mouse droppings to be found in our cold room in that time either.

I love organizational projects. You may want to consider changing out the collegen peptide consider for glass if you are having pest issues. The same thing happened to my tomato powder from Azure..hard as a rock

Try small container of equal parts Jiffy cornbread mix and baking soda. Mice and rats can't burp/pass gas, so it kills tem. It is safe for other animals like dogs, cats, etc.

Thanks for sharing your process with us. I look forward to your tips and tricks. We are downsizing from 3000 sq. ft to 1000 sq. ft for semi-retirement. We are remodeling the space we will be moving into and have plans for taking over a bedroom for office and pantry space. My husband, a carpenter, will be building me lots of cabinets. Never enough though, as you stated. I have already started storing in 5-gallon buckets with gamma seal lids and I have been ordering 1/2 gallon and gallon glass jars too. I have been reusing bulk labels too! As a newer viewer, flashback videos would be awesome.

The problem with the stems on your tomatoes is called Didymella stem rot. I have had a few tomatoes do that and they died and I pulled them out and burned them. There was a video that said they have a treatment if caught early. It was on Google when I looked up stem rot. Hope this helps
