Looks really good will have to try this but I like stew thick
I make beans in my pressure cooker. 2 cups of beans. Add enough water to cover beans by 3 inches. Add salt and pepper. You can add ham if you like. Pressure for 40 minutes. Pure perfection!
Looks good!
OMG. This looks really good!! My mouth is watering. LOL
I really like using instant potato flakes to thicken soups and stews. I add towards the end. I just shake some flakes into the hot liquid and stir.
We had an odd spring/summer and now fall here but our garden provided some great vegetables. The taste of home grown instead of store bought – no comparison to how much better growing our own food is SO much tastier.
That looks amazing!
Lol I make a lot of Turkey & chicken stews during the winter. Just made Turkey stew today. Served with bakes bread.
No…home grown veggies have soooo much more flavor!
Your potatoes look scrumptious! I love my Instant Pot! You have been my inspiration to begin prepping😊 Before placing all the liquids in the pressure cooker, I would keep more liquid out at the beginning and keep a half cup back and add cornstarch or arrowroot powder to it and add at the end if you wish to thicken it more like a stew.❤️
This pandemic has given me a new found respect for all preppers.
I would advise if you have a Presser Cooker that you read the manual for yours. The instructions may differ a little between different manufactures.
I'm a huge proponent of dehydrating home grown potatoes to retain that wonderful flavor. Like a taste of heaven in January when the temps drop and the snow's flying.
Oh AP…your Swing-a-Way can opener has a jar lid opener along the edge of it! Could you use that instead of a spoon?
Do you think I can use my freezed dried food in a instant pot.
A little corn starch will thicken your soup.
You never heard of turkey stew, AP? That surprises me because, at least in my family, especially after the holidays, turkey stew is a tradition. Never did it with canned turkey before though.
Blessings AP! I changed my chat name from prepper4life to Glory2God. Had trouble watching this video. Guess its my phone again. Anyway, we loved this video and love all your cooking videos! Thanks for sharing it with everyone! Gods blessings to all!
THUMBS UP!
AP you need to make a cookbook using your #10 cans. I have a few, but really don't know how to use them.
Do you have a video of how you can your Turkey? I have a bunch of turkeys in the deep freezers, and I will get more closer to Thanksgiving as would LOVE to can it!
I made something very similar I just used chicken instead and it is delicious
This would be good in a situation where you couldn’t have your traditional Thanksgiving dinner you could add some stuffing and voilà
We always made a turkey soup with the carcass after roasting a turkey or turkey breast. So hearty and delicious! Your stew/soup looks fantastic!
I love stews with rice, I usually put the ingredients in the slow cooker in the morning. Chicken, Beef, Turkey….whatever you're in the mood for. I'm learning to perfect my own gravies so that I don't have to purchase the pricey store bought mixes. Sometimes I use gravy master, a bottle lasts a long time.
Love it ! Enjoy 🙏🏻
Never heard of turkey stew??? I make it every year with Thanksgiving left overs. 😄 Whenever I make something with carrots I add a 1/2 Tsp of sugar. It brings out the flavor of the carrots. I had to laugh about your pretty little potato that you grew. 😄😄😄 Man, that stew looked delicious! 😋 I know you enjoyed it.
Blessings, my friend. 💜✝
We make similar stews using all kinds of meat. Venison, chicken, beef, pork, etc., it’s all good in a stew. It’s hard to beat a good stew with fresh biscuits or corn bread. We got a good deal on chicken last week, leg quarters were $0.49/lb and boneless breasts were $1.10/lb, we canned up the chicken so it would make for fast meals when we use it.
Yummy! Looks hearty & delicious. I give you 10 stars.
Oh my goodness!! That Turkey Stew looks so tasty!! I think I still have some canned turkey in my pantry…along with canned carrots and I even have a few little potatoes that I grew…oh boy!! Thanks, AP!!
First of all, well done on those fabulous potatoes! I remember seeing them growing in past videos, but that is a great result – and being able to use them whole with their skins is so much better!
I haven't seen an electric pressure cooker. My late mother had the saucepan type, but it was really heavy and I know she was terrified of it. That pressure cooker is ideal, you could easily sit it outdoors to cook as well.
I was ready to put a plate out watching that video, because the meal looked wonderful. When you get a thinner stock, it lends itself so well to an excuse for a bread roll. AP, I am still waiting for my pressure canner, ordered in July. I had hoped to can potatoes, but I will have to see how much longer it takes to arrive. I am more than ready to start pressure canning now. Thanks, enjoy and take care!!
Wow thanks a lot I'm eating lunch at work and all I have a protein bar and apple sauce cup. Bummer lol
We make turkey stew/soup all the time. As well as chicken and hamburger. We also add lima beans, or green beans, or p
green peas. So good when it's cold outside.
I really love your cooking videos!
This looks great. Comfort food ! 🍜
Looks good. I like using my pressure cooker.
