OMG Denise I would be madder than a wet hen about the cast iron, sorry I did not laugh. When my husband and I married and I moved to his home I found a wash basin outside and explored the contents inside the sink. I found several cast iron skillets, most were Griswold including a hammered and hinged chicken fryer with the lid. Love the instant pot so much that I bought a second larger pot with the air fryer lid. That meal looks so yummy. TFS

I smiled when you said you grew your cabbage, it looks delicious 😋. I've never seen that variety before. Good tip about keeping scraps for broth. So sorry about that cast iron skillet. 😢 thanks for the recipe. I have cornmeal that I bought on a steal but I have yet to use it. I like the coming and cleaniing aspect, I always feel like people don't want to see the cleaning part, from me but maybe not when it's in short segments.

Oh my about your iron skillet mishap! So happy to know he replaced it! I haven't yet cooked with my new insta pot! This really looks good to try! So did your cornbread. I've always used the packets, but I may give this one a try! Happy to have joined this fun collaboration with all of you!!!

I love this recipe 😋 ! My mouth dropped open 😲 when you said that your husband got rid of your cast iron skillets . I love how cast iron cooks fried chicken & cornbread . I'm happy that he got you some new ones. Tfs !

NO!@!@ Never get rid of cast iron skillet…ever! I have my mom's who got it from her mom. If you take good care of them, they will last for generations. Even if they were not taken care of, i.e. rusty…usually they can be rescued.
