I'm not sure what I did wrong, but this has been simmering now for nearly an hour and some of the rice is still crunchy. I seldom have a problem with a Laura Vitale recipe. Not sure what happened this time…

I just made this. I used parboiled rice, added a tbs of tomato paste and 1 cup of chickpeas. It is absolutely delicious and low cal. Thanks for sharing.

Could deglaze with white wine for additional flavor, and rinse your rice before adding it if the dish is too starchy or sticky. As many others have mentioned – this is a technique dish that you can experiment and have fun with.

Hello Laura. I made this recipe with my mom but I had a question. It's my mom's habit to pre-wash the rice whenever she cooks it. I think when she did this the rice soaked too much water and it became a bit mushy. Is pre-washing the rice necessary or can I just put in in the pan directly from the packaging? It still was delicious tho

Laura I loved this video. Looks like such a real, homemade dinner recipe. Simple and fulla love 💖 as a veggie it reminds me of my rice and lentil pilaf. It’s more Eastern European, flavoured with cinnamon. You would love it, I’m sure. It’s a baked rice dish. Healthy, filling and made with such love x

+Laura in the Kitchen, so we don't have to wash the rice for this recipe? I'm not sure if you washed before you started recording or not. Let me know, please. Great recipe! Thank you so much! Love your channel!
