    It's not a bisi bele bhat…
    Actually its a 'Bishi byali huli anna'( बिशी ब्याळी हुळी अन्ना)…

And moreover bishi byali masala consist cinnamon along with sambhar podi ingredients…
Though I'm Maharashtrian I fond of bishi byali huli anna And samabr sadam…
Your recipe is definatly sambar sadam.

The recipe is nice but it is definitely not bisi bele bath… Brinjal and drumstick do not go into it and, the sambar powder is completely different to the bisi bele bath powder (masala)… Please don't mislead your audience..

One Pot Bisi Bele Bath !!

After shifting to Bangalore, fell in love with this and sharing the first Karnataka special dish a quick cheat one pot version

Might not be authentic but the flavours 🤌🤌

    Detailed recipe

    Moong dal 2 tbsp
Toor or arhar dal 1/3 cup
    Rice 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
    Ghee 1 tbsp
Veggies 2 cup approx (carrot, beans, brinjal, drumstick, green capsicum peas etc)
    Green chilli 1 or2
    Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
    Whole pepper 7-8 pcs
    Large Tomato 2 big chunks
    Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Bisi Bele Bath powder or Sambhar powder 1.5 tbsp
    Salt to taste
Tamarind 1 small lemon size (soak in warm water, remove seeds and keep it ready to be added)
    3+1.5 cup water
    Coriander leaves chopped 1/3 cup
    Jaggery 1/2 -1 tsp

    For Tadka

    Ghee 2 tbsp
    Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
    Hing pinch
    Dry red chilli 2
    Curry leaves 1 sprig
Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
    Cashews 10-15
    Shallots whole or onions 10-15

    1. Soak rice and both dal in water for minimum 30 minutes and drain it. Soak tamarind in little warm water and separate pulp and skin layer

    2. Add Rice, dal, veggies, salt, turmeric, Sambhar/ Bisi Bele powder Add 3 cup water & ghee and pressure cook for 3 whistle

    3. After opening add 1.5 cup water or more to adjust consistent. Add 4 tbsp of tamarind water or as per taste, jaggery powder, coriander leaves chopped 1/3 cup and check for salt.

    4. For tadka Heat ghee, mustard, cumin, hing, whole pepper, curry leaves, Kashmiri chilli powder for little colour optional, dry red chilli, cashew cook, cook Sambhar onion next and add to the bisi Bele bath

    Note:

    1) Tamarind water is must if you don’t have use lemon juice

    2) Use bisi Bele Bhat masala if you don’t have it not use Sambhar. I use local brand of masala either Aachi or Sakthi for Rasam, Sambhar and Idli podi. You may check on Amazon
