Looking at your children's names…..you have a Sarah and Samuel. We have our oldest daughter, Sarah and I wanted to name our first son, Seth Patrick but my husband didn't like the name Seth….so we have Benjamin and I wanted to name our last son, Samuel, but my husband didn't want that so we have John.

Once when Sarah was around 3 years old, I heard her tell someone that Mommy wanted to name my brother St. Patrick's Day but Daddy wouldn't let her. And the person, most likely thought, "Thank goodness!" In reality I wanted to name him Seth Patrick.

Happy Birthday! I know it was filled with love and laughter.
Just a thought. You mentioned using your Discover card for its cash back options, and I use it too. I save mine all year, and by Christmas I can generally buy most gifts with that money. I wanted to mention that I also have an Amazon Visa card that gives me 5% back on any Amazon purchase. I have disabilities which make shopping online pretty much a necessity, and Amazon is generally my go to shopping spot. Since I pay off the card immediately after my purchase, there is never an interest charge to deal with. The 5% does add up quickly depending on how much you buy, of course, but anything saved is good in my book!
Yes, I do realize that Discover offers an Amazon feature also, but it is generally just for 3 months of the year, while the Amazon Visa is good every day.
This may not be something you are interested in, but I just wanted to mention it just in case.

Happy birthday, lovely lady with beautiful kind children. You take me back to my early days of marriage when the only way I could get it through to my husband how much money we had for the month was to put it out in cash on the shelf. He was very kind and would like to buy me nice things but we needed to try to save a bit.
