I made this tonight. I have to tell you that my family was not digging the aroma…well they actually called it a "smell" while it was cooking. They were all like "OMG what is that SMEEELLL!" I admit the sme….uuumm…aroma was making me a little queasy..(I guess were just aren't used to smelling (rice) vinegar cooking. Then it got done…and YUM….it tasted ssssoooo good. My daughter said "Mama that just shows that we should not let the smell define a meal." I will make this again.

So yummy! I became a follower after my daughter-in-law (who is a super fan!) and lives in Austen, told me about you. She made me many of your recipes on my last visit and I was amazed I never felt hungry or deprived! I guess you could say between you and her, that I was โ€œTURNEDโ€! Iโ€™ve been cooking this way ever since. Feel awesome, and Iโ€™m loosing weight to boot! Thanks for all you do! Keep it up!

teriyaki needs ginger and maybe some garlic, also would be nice to toss in some greens and put the cover on so they can wilt … can't wait to try this and to see how you did your garbanzos, just got my pot and loving it; however making dahl soup which is dried bean, even tho i soaked the beans they stuck to the bottom of the pan, not burned but not nice; this happened twice with LOTS of water. ย Maybe I soaked them too long overnite?

Wowza this was terrific. I made this half chickpeas half soy curls, and simmered it for a bit to really get the flavor in there. My toddler as crazy about the chickpeas and hubs and I adored it too. KEEPER.

I made this on the stove. I added soy curls and orange marmalade. My adult son who is not a vegetarian came for dinner, ate it without realizing it was meat free. He loved it, and said it was just like his favorite Chinese take out. Home run! ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for the recipe.

I just made this for lunch and my husband loved it, I loved it! The dogs were a tad disappointed…no partially eaten servings for them. Thanks for yet another great meal!

Hey, i just made this today. It was pretty good. I followed the recipe knowing i was going to make a lot because you make a whole dish for a family and i made a whole dish for myself, but i didn't mind having leftovers.

Anyway, i liked this because it got me full fast, but i noticed the cornstarch didn't make the sauce thick at all. It was still very thin. Any suggestions why? Or is it not supposed to do that?

I cannot express to you just how good we thought this dish was! My husband told me to tell the "bunny eared lady" that this was terrific! He's only been vegan for 5 days and a huge meat eater so this is really high praise, coming from him ๐Ÿ™‚

Just made it! i did not have corn starch but i substitute it with some brown rice flour (it worked really well) and did not feel like oignons and only put garlic and last i also sauted a big bunch of mushrooms, it reminded me of a japonese dish that i used to love before going plant base. Thanks from freezing Montreal, i needed that kind of confort food tonight ๐Ÿ˜‰ nat

I made this recipe this week. LOVED it. Chickpeas are not my favorite…legume? Bean? However I did let the sauce simmer more which reduced the vinegar and I used Apple Cider Vinegar which may have been strong that rice vinegar but it is what I had on hand.

Ok, I am not doing well at all. I have no idea what npr is. I look at your video about npr and it talks about a pressure indicator, is that the float valve? I did not realize I needed to watch a bunch of other videos to do these recipes. lol… I am assuming you cooked the rice under pressure since there is a npr action at the end. Not sure, but assuming, it wasn't mentioned. Oh well, here goes nothing. I hope I don't blow up the house. lol… Run puppies run. ๐Ÿ™‚

I made this tonight- Yum! I added a carrot and used a glug of toasted sesame oil instead of sesame seeds (I didn't have the seeds and I'm not oil free yet). I only used half the sauce w/ a couple of cups of garbanzos. I plan to use the rest of the sauce on some soy curls next week. I think I prefer my pineapple teriyaki BUT this is a great option for when I don't have a pineapple. Thanks!!!

Looks good. I have a question about ingredients. The video shows you adding 1/2 cup tamari but your recipe says 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce, so which is it tamari or teriyaki? Thanks.

I'm making this for dinner tonight! I added garlic powder and onion powder since I was out of onions, oops. I also had some frozen stir fry veggies that I needed to use up so I added those. YUM! This is a keeper.

*****Hope your read this post for I'm sharing some gems with you! ๐Ÿ™‚ First of all, this recipe was superb. I loved it and it will be made frequently in my home. Next, I want to share these things with you, for you are so good about sharing with us. These three things are items I've made again and again and are very good. Veggie Burger Formula:

The burger recipe is the first I can remember that really holds together and you have so many options on how to create. The fruit kvass I started making after I got a cold and had it for almost 3 weeks. I wanted to fight it, etc. in the future. It calls for honey, but you can use maple syrup and I believe someone said they used brown sugar. The bread recipe I like because it is oats, whole wheat, and 1/3 is white flour. If you eliminate the white flour it's too dense. Jenny is a wonderful cook/baker and with your creativeness, I'll bet you can adjust some of her recipes to be vegan. Hope you like the three sites. As I said, I really like them.

Typing "chickpeas" there brings up a list of other chickpea videos but not necessarily yours. At least yours didn't pop up when I did the search that way. That's kind of weird as I watch your videos all the time. You'd think when I did a search like that your videos would be up at the top of the list. โค๐Ÿ˜œ

Jill, I'm intrigued…why doesn't your daughter eat what you cook? You always say the recipes are for you, your husband and your son… And you always buy cans of beans for your daughter… What gives? Your recipes seem much better than canned beans!
