Any advice on sourcing mirin generally? It seems to be generally prohibitively expensive for a common ingredient, and the aji-mirin I've bought has basically tasted and acted like corn syrup.

Feel bad for you and your dog

I can't believe I've been watching your show for so long and you've been secretly calling me a racist behind my back and you don't know anything about me! Just because I think America is in the shitter and we need to make it great again doesn't make me a bad person it just makes me a person with an opinion! I'm so pissed bro! I hope you grow a little and know that every person has a right to have their own opinion I graduated from The Cordon Bleu and there are people out there that I don't agree with I still love to cook for them even the ones who I 100% disagree with I never banned anybody from my restaurant because they were Democrat!

I'm tearing up over Shabu… Sweet Abbey, my 20 year old cat, is the definition of a cat having many lives. But every time she bounces back, it's not quite back to where she was. I know the time is coming sooner than I wish. So glad to know you gave Shabu so much love, and I hope we get to keep seeing Jamon for many years to come ❤️

I grew up in a home where we also let our dogs try little bites of our cooking, because we loved food, and each member of our family deserved to partake in a home cooked meal, even the furry ones.

Watching you feed Shabu (and sometimes Jamón) always reminded me of all the wonderful childhood memories in the kitchen that I had with my family and pets. I would excitedly look for her and anticipate her little treat in each video.

Thank you Kenji for sharing the joy of your pets with all your viewers, along with all your cooking knowledge. Your videos are my favorite to watch on YouTube, and I wish the best for you and your family.

My partner and I recently welcomed a new dog, Pepper, into our family (we loved your food related dog names so much that we pretty much only considered food related names) and I'll think of you and Shabu when she is my taste tester in the future.
