Interesting….may be a little more "technology" than I want, though. I am giving away my age here, but I recall many years ago Betty Crocker and some other manufacturers came out with ready made cake mix. All you had to do was add a little water or milk, pour the batter into cake pans, bake at X-temperature for Y-minutes, and voila! Cake! To everyone's surprise, the cake mixes did not sell as well as expected. A little research showed that wives and mums felt it was too simple, as though not enough of their love and time had gone into it. No problem for Betty Crocker, though. The company just adjusted the mixes to require some eggs and oil, and then the mixes sold much more as initially expected.

I am interested to see if these chef makers are going to be the new rage, though. I think the 30 month extended warranty is great. This is a complicated machine—so many bits and bobs that could go wrong.

I have a Emerald 5.5 qt. air fryer. I purchased a Thermoworks Dot thermometer, with 47" probe. I use the Dot on chicken, pork, and beef, all the time. The drawer of my air fryer closes easily and doesn't pinch probes cable. Never seen any sign of damage to probe or air fryer.

No fair Cathy! I already have my two Cosori units and now I want this one!!

That probe is a game changer! How nice it would be to roast a chicken or chicken breast without having to obsessively check the temp to keep from over-cooking it. And I have never had great success with steaks because the air fryer basket doesn't have enough lift or a high enough temp to get a nice crust but the DREO 1800W unit goes to 450!

The price seems high when compared to Cosori but the top of the line Phillips that I bought my aunt for Christmas a couple of years ago was pretty much the same price or pricier but is such a pain to clean. The DREO unit looks like it cleans up as easy as my Cosori Dual Blaze. AND I love to sous vide so the water enhanced cooking is very intriguing. I have a feeling our trusty Cosori Pros are going to find themselves retired or rehomed soon. 😃

Hi, we can’t get cosori in Australia right now, so I bought a phillips, and do love it. Is your recipe book suitable to use for the phillips xxx L machine. If so how do I purchase one. Thanks Cathy, I love your channel and honesty.

I bought my Dreo over a year ago, and use it almost every day. It works like a charm. New one is nice, so hopefully I can upgrade at some point.

Neat looking appliance. But for them to market this as not being an air fryer is a bit misleading. It is an air fryer, with a water chamber for added moisture when cooking. It's also not even close to a sous vide. I still love my Dual Blaze. This is overpriced for what it is.

This machine would suit one person, right? Or maybe two who eat very moderately. (It looks very compact though, so great for small kitchens). 7:17 Steam when cooking will ALWAYS result in meat being more tender. I put some water into an ovenproof dish (on the bottom) in the regular oven when baking a roast. Makes a huge difference to tenderness and flavour. Sometimes I put a roast on a rack, and in the baking dish beneath it, I put some water; that makes gravy later, but creates steam till meat juices replace the water.

Hmm, I find steaks in the same package can be very different when it comes to taste & texture. Not sure that I would say that either would be a good cook on a charcoal grill with a good cook. Just my 2 cents & worth every penny. BTW, I owned a restaurant with a char grill in the kitchen for our steaks, Pork chops, & burgers.

Crazy to say better than on the grill any day. The crust, texture, and juicy goodness can’t be beat. Just takes a few tries to lean how to grill a really good steak. Plus you can do all the steaks at the same time.

The determining factor here is the internal thermometer which the logic board relies on so just think of it as your antifreeze temperature sensor connected to your car computer and this is the main reason why this dreo machine is better than air fryer

I keep saying to the world that we are way behind on technology compared to the aliens at the Roswell NM incident

Cathy I just ordered one for $259 because of your honesty and your video. I love that you and your children are honest. Especially when you or your children don’t like something. Keep them coming.

Too expensive, and what concerns me is the mineral build up over time caused by pouring water into the unit, and how would you clean it. This is a great review, I'm sticking with my Cosori Dual Blaze.

I love my Cosori2 and use it 70% of the time. I also have an induction countertop plate and the complete Brava AI digital Oven, which uses six high-wattage tungsten halide bulbs. They turn on and off immediately, depending on what foods you are cooking. So the foods are cooked and ready simultaneously. There are three zones on the Brava metal and glass trays, each in its zone, allowing three types of food to cook simultaneously, i.e., meat, potatoes, and broccoli. Very efficient and fast. The Brava is not inexpensive by any means. It costs about $ 1,500 with all accessories. Costing more than my floor oven, which I rarely use anymore.
I decided to back the Dreo Chef Maker, and at $259, it is a little high. Still, I like helping companies develop what is an item that worked well in your video and would be an excellent addition to my array of AI-enhanced cooking tools. Since I no longer use the burners on top of my oven, I have covered them with a maple countertop. My Cosori and Mealthy Pressure cooker, which also has an air fryer top attachment, lives on the maple countertop permanently.
This is the third Kickstarter product I have backed, and the first two had zero problems and are still working flawlessly after many years of use. If there were to be a problem, Chef Maker would resolve the issue. I was about to purchase a Cosori Dual Blaze, but now I will see what potential the Dreo Chef Maker oven offers.
Thank you for your many excellent videos and your gaggle of charming children taste testers.
Cheers, sincerely. An ardent follower of yours since your beginnings.

    Enjoyed video. Very good comparison.
Based on other comments I shall try a bit of water in bottom of Cosori with meats. Might contribute towards little more moisture…
    Do love my Cosori !
