These turned out amazing. Thank you! I made a few changes and put 5 garlic gloves, quartered the onion and added a touch of cayan pepper powder, cumin powder and a tablespoon of black pepper. I also added a few slices of bacon and cut them up with scissors. They were so good me and my family just ate beans tonight. In the morning im going to make breakfast tacos with refried beans. Love this recipe!

They turned out great! My juice isn't really thick, but I did add water along the way. I made the mistake once of adding salt while they cooked and had to throw them away. 🙁 tough for sure, hard to explain….. But this time no salt, just garlic and onion. Yum! Thank you!

Whaaat??? In English!! Yes!! I watch you a lot and most words I don't understand (I'm learning 🙂 but it's easy to see what you're doing and you always put the recipe in the description and it's awesome but this is a real treat!!! I noticed your husband wearing a Houston Astros baseball cap in one of your videos. I think it was a caldo de pollo recipe. Tomorrow I am making this pinto beans recipe along with one of your salsa recipes! By the way, your English is excellent! Thank you Janet! I wish you all the best of success – Luther

I love your channel and your recipes. You are my favorite and my go to page! I’ve made this recipe before and it was perfect. But this time I noticed my beans had split while soaking and they cooked into mush. Should I not cook beans that split while soaking? Does it mean they are old?

Hola Senora. I love your videos. I actually use Google translate and translate the ones in Spanish😬 I just wish my mind was better at retaining the new words. Ha. Questions about cooking beans. When do you add epezote if you add it? Why do people add epezote? Thanks for all your hard work and great information about Mexican cooking.
