That looks scrumptious! I bet you could have added about a 1/2 cup of water at the end and brought it to a boil and it would have thinned out the gravy for more gravy! I'll give this a try, looks so good! p.s. I think all husbands are the same! Mine could never get exactly what I asked him to get at the store either!😃
I always use an egg wash first then flour. Make a good crust.

My dad's the same way & he's got hearing aids & also when my mom sends my dad to the grocery store he's gotta call her & ask her what's the name on the can or what, what's the price & might as well ask my mom what ingredients lol.
And they don't know how to call and ask what to do..that's how my mom made her cube steaks and I learned from her.. I'M 77 years old so, I've been cooking it for awhile..it was my husband's favorite meal with mashed potatoes..I also add a can of cream of mushroom soup.. this is really delicious..
