Not a bad method, but too complicated for me. I get thick, creamy Greek yogurt by letting it cool overnight in the fridge first then strain in the fridge for a few hours the next day. This method has no need for coffee filters, just a plain fine mesh strainer because the yogurt is already very thick before straining. You won’t even have to whisk, just stir for a smooth, creamy consistency. The more whey you take out, the thicker it gets, so I leave it overnight if I want to make a soft cheese.

If I dont get to it after the 8 hour timer is that ok?Can it sit longer by a few more hours? Also, is it safe to cool without the ice bath just in natural time?

what setting do you cook yogurt on? Has anyone tried the low setting? I have 2 people in my household that tell me that the low setting is best but I feel my first try was a flop due to something else.

Rebecca, thanks so much for the video. I just got an InstantPot and am trying to make yogurt in it for the first time- your video helped a bunch!
I've made yogurt at home a long time now, and here's a hint for you-to strain my yogurt I got a nylon mesh bag from my local wine and cheesemaking shop- washable, reusable, and super easy. It'll save money on coffee filters and much easier to use.

thank you for making this. I'm looking into getting an instant pot but don't really eat yogurt so debating on the Lux V3 and the Duo Plus. Figured I look into how "easy" it'd be to make yogurt just in case but this is a lot of work and i wouldn't do it haha.
