This is probably the second most boring video I will ever make. It’s about making pot roast in a InstantPot slow cooker. That’s it.

Corn starch and water works best as a thickener if you are boiling it with the juices. It takes a few minutes to thicken. You can add a little more corn starch/water if it isn't getting thick. Don't use too much water. I do this whenever I am making gravy.

You aren't bitter about the delivery cost of your free instapot – are you? 🙂 You need a sharpener…. I run the knife along it for a few strokes before I slice. Works great.

Yes Mr. Parker it will thicken a little more in the fridge. I prefer to add juices to sauce pan and reduce till it is to consistency you like. You may add flour or cream.(season w salt & pepper even some butter) Make sure you use a whisk to the thickness you like, then pass trough a sieve. Provecho!

May I add one suggestion…please don't put warm/hot things into plastic. It leaches carcinogens out of the plastic into the meat. Gotta take care of our favorite pod person.

    Don,
Great video. I just purchased a wannabe insta pot and am making chicken soup for three. Yes Luni, Rebel and me. Hoping it turns out as well as your pot roast. Thanks for the beef explanation…hard to fight out what the cuts of meat are here. The kids have enjoyed some of my tougher mistakes. Thanks for making us smile as always!

Looks like a great Osso Bucco Don! Spanish translation for the raw meat may be vástago de res, the marrow is one of the best parts of that cut of beef. Looking forward to some other cooking videos.

That is one of my favorite meals. I used to make bone broth from big cuts of bone. This is the best of two. I've found it hard to sleep with all that aroma going around. Butter is better than gravy in my opinion.

Every time you said "my free $185.00 insta pot" I cracked up. My wife doesn't know the back story. I tried to explain it to her but she just didn't see the humor in it. Thanks for the entertainment.

InstantPot has the Sautee function – you can use a bit of avocado oil to first sear and caramelize the meat before you set your Slow Cooker function – prior add a teaspoon of garlic powder to the salt and pepper which you are adding to the meat. (Of course, remove the meat before laying down the onions and then add beef broth and just a bit of water before setting up the Slow Cooking function) – Sherry wine is a good addition to the sauce. You know that it is done when the meat falls off the bones…
Almost forgot – 3 teaspoons of corn starch to three teaspoons of water and tablespoon of butter and mix it into your end product to make it thicker and cook it under sautee for a couple minutes – best gravy ever and firms up your pot roast…
