The bologna salad is exactly like "Skinke salad" yum! Have this pretty often here in denmark with some Rygeost (if someone can send you some Fynsk Rygeost i'd be thrilled. It's a delicious, smokey and smooth cheese)

Try making ham salad! my gram would always either buy it cause our mom and pop store in town would make it, or she'd do it herself. There was also sammich spread, don't remember which i liked more but, i'm almost 100% sure sammich spread is what you call Bologna salad.

Emmy, you have tried some very "adventurous" items on your channel. Kudos to you. I was wondering if anything you tried has ever make you physically ill or created any issues for you?

I don't know why but I kept expecting the bologna salad to like, congeal back into solid chunks of bologna. I mean I knew it wasnt going to, but I still expected it for some reason.

Bologna salad was a staple in my house as a kid for lunch. Especially at my grandmother's house! We still even eat it today! Not newly as much as we used to, like in my childhood. We actually had a meat grinder that my grandparents bought JUST for bologna salad. They still have it; they bought it brand new in the early 60s. That goes to show that vintage things were build to last!! About 5 years ago, the bad that makes it stick to the surface cracked so it won't stay still, so I bought them a new one for their safety and as older, traditional people are….. They still use the old one unless I'm around hahaha, but YES! Even thinking about bologna salad evokes so many childhood memories!

This was fascinating to watch and disturbing all at the same time lol I imagined the flavor to be that close to a ham salad mix. I think my children would actually like this haha

My grandma used to make this all the time only she did use ham. She likes to use that canned deviled ham and I think I am the only family member that actually loved it!

To make the suction strong enough to attach the apparatus to the surface do two things 1) (most important) make sure the surface you are attaching to is super smooth, 2) you can additionally coat the bottom of the apparatus with a tiny bit of water before engaging the suction for an even stronger bond.

To be honest, I haven't watched any of your recent "Make strange this out of weird that" vids. But you had me at b'loney. Ate a lot of "ham salad" as a kid and never realized it was shredded b'loney. Now, at age 73, you have awakened many fond memories. Thank you, Our Lovely!

Our family with five hungry kids would have polished that bowlful off in a flash, back in the 50's, and YES you need chips with it. Put some chips into the sandwich, delicious. And we all survived that diet!

my mom makes something like this with an old cast iron meat grinder that attached to the cutting board or countertop with a vice. I remember turning the handle when I was young and the juice from the pickles running down into the bowl set on a chair underneath the grinder. She uses ring bologna and gherkin pickles instead of already-chopped relish. Definitely Miracle Whip. I don't make it myself because I just couldn't (definitely shouldn't) eat a whole batch of it. She made it within the last couple months and mentioned it and I admit I was a little disappointed I didn't get a little tub of it just for nostalgia's sake 🙂
