Black beans arent Mexican cuisine, pinto beans are. A burrito should have refried or straight up pinto beans and Onion, cilantro choice of meats and cheese. And a side of your hot salsa, green, red or both.

Black beans are more tex- mex or cuban. I could be wrong but as now that's what I think.

Great video love that you like Mexican food.

Mad Mex is SHIT. I walked into one once, and walked right back out after taking in the disgusting odour. The only positive about that business, is that allegedly they match every purchase and give those funds to charity. Good explanation for why the food is yuck. You Aussie's have no concept of authentic Mexican cuisine. I've been living Down Under for more than nine years and to this day people here still think that 'Old El Paso Taco Kits', is authentic. What you're eating at Mad Mex, is Tex-Mex, at it's worst. I feel sorry for folks here, I grew up in a town near the Mexican border that has the most authentic you would ever have the pleasure of trying.

I strongly suspect that the bulk of Mexican food in Australia is of the sort modelled on American fast-food restaurants like Taco Bell and Chipotle, which means that most Australians' context for Mexican food is an abstract, Disneyfied version of Tex-Mex. Let's hope that Australians are visiting Tex-Mex country in the U.S. and also old-world Mexico, so that Australians's view of Mexican food isn't shaped entirely by their experience with fast food.

You basically had the same thing twice except one was wrapped in a tortilla with some extra heat. Kinda like going to a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. There are a lot of options but they ingredients are basically the same just just put together different?

I've dined there for lunch last month (Pac Fair) and I agree totally Greggo, the food was a little bland. The best part about it was the cutlery. They were so strong and stiff despite being plastic. I've never had anything that stiff in a long time.

Great review Grego. If you want some real Mexican food come on down to Tijuana. I'll hook you up with some awesome street food. And a place to stay for you and Bernice. Thanks Greg. 🙂

Good thinking to get the open burrito —easier to film the contents… Looked like a pretty decent feed, shame it was kinda bland. You need to make your own El Greggo kangaroo burrito… 😉
